    My Trip Report

    Friday 22nd May

I stopped at an airport hotel near the Terminal so it wasn’t too bad otherwise I would have been getting up in the middle of the night to get to the airport. I was flying with Thomas Cook and I checked in and the flight was on time departing, I had booked the premium economy with the wider seat and more legroom and now you get wine and beer free as well. There is a good selection of movies and entertainment as well and the bonus is that there’s nobody sat next to me so I have more room to stretch out. We are approaching Vegas at about 11.55am but the captain then comes on to say they have changed the runway so we have to circle round and do another approach so we get a tour Hoover Dam and Lake Mead before we finally touch down and eventually we are at the gate and I’m off and head towards immigration and sail through there and once again I wait ages for my luggage.

It’s off to the taxi and there’s a quite a queue but it doesn’t take long before I’m in the cab and I get a chatty driver who offers me the chance to visit a massage place he knows but I politely decline. I get to the Mirage and check in is easy and I’m soon in my 7th floor room, it’s the first time I have stopped here and the rooms are comfortable, I hit the shower to freshen before I go out to get something to eat.
I decide to go across to TI and I get something to eat at the coffee shop before I start on my VP at the bar and it’s not a great start and I’m little bit down after about an hour or so, I head back to Mirage and crash in my room as my long flight is now taking its toll, I have a knap and I’m awake at about 8pm and I freshen get changed and I hit the strip.

First port of call is O’Shea’s which is busy and jumping, then it’s a jump over to Tilted Kilt before stopping off for a drink in Flamingo, then it’s onto Cromwell, where there is short dresses and a lot of cleavage on show, next it’s Paris where I have a couple of drinks at Gustavs bar before making my way back to Mirage although I call in to Harrahs for a couple before getting to Mirage and having a beer at the sports bar while flanked by working girls either side so I decide it’s time to go and catch up on some sleep.

Trying to put some pics in but there coming out side wards for some reason any advice thanks

    Saturday 23rd May

I was up and about around 10am and made my way down to Tuscany for some breakfast and after filling up I headed off to the bar for some VP, it didn’t go to well and I decided to leave it and head out and back on to the Strip. I end up in the Pub at Monte Carlo for a beer then move onto Nine Fine Irishman at NYNY, then it’s a trek back up the Strip to Cosmo for a beer before ending up at sports bar at Mirage.

I go back to my room for a shower and change then head out to TI to get something to eat at the Coffee Shop and after that a bit of VP at the bar and still not doing too good, I go out and get a taxi and head Downtown.
I get dropped at El Cortez and hit the bar for some VP but it’s only a quick game while I have a drink then it’s a walk on to Fremont St for some of the sights (not all good) and sounds of Downtown, I have a walk up to Main Street and a wander around there before heading up to Plaza for a beer, then across to Golden Gate for a few beers and chatting with the bar staff I know in there.

I get a cab from outside Plaza and head back to the Strip and end up in the Linq for a beer then I walk up to Paris where I end the night with a pint or two, then I wander back to the Mirage and head straight to my room for some sleep.

    Sunday 24th May

I’m awake about 11am and I get up and out and I’m across at the Linq for a beer before going across to Caesars Palace to pick up tickets for Mariah Carey, tickets are only available after 4pm but I decided to see if I could pick up early and I’m lucky as there are available now, as I’m there there’s another guy also picking up tickets and I notice the soccer shirt he’s wearing and we strike up a short conversation about soccer before I head back out to the Strip and get down to NYNY, by now I’m a bit hungry but I only want something quick so I find a hot dog place and a foot long does the trick.

I walk across the bridge and end up in MGM and after a wander about I settle at the bar for a couple of beers and some VP and after about 45 mins I cash out slightly down. I walk back and end up in TI for some VP at the bar first and then some food, it’s a walk back to Mirage for a shower and change and I head towards Caesars Palace.
I get there about 45 mins before the show starts and I look at the bar prices and I make the decision that I won’t bother with any beer but just a bottle of water which I think was $8. I take my seat and I’m in the front orchestra and have a great view of the stage albeit from the right hand side. I’m sat next to an Australian guy who just wanted to experience the Coliseum and next to him a couple from New York and we chatted before the show started.

Mariah makes her entrance and her fanatics are definitely in the house, and when it quietens down and you hear her voice as she sings Vision Of Love her voice does sound great even on the high notes she was still hitting them when she needed to although maybe for not as long as years ago.
Overall she put on a great show and I thought it was great, I got tickets near the front as this will the only time I’m going to see her although a lot of times I was standing as people in the front sections stood up for some of the songs especially if she was sttod towards the right hand side of the stage.

After the show I got out of Caesars and went across to the Linq, as I got into the open I found out it was raining although not too much and being from the UK I’m used to it anyway. I end up in O’Sheas for a drink then head down the Strip and end up in Ballys for another drink, then it’s onto Paris for a couple and then Tilted Kilt for another couple. I make the walk back to Mirage but call in on the bar In Harrahs for a drink before a final one of the night at Mirage before heading to bed.

    Monday 25th May

I was awake about 11am and I get washed and dressed and I’m out and I head towards NYNY and decide the foot long I got yesterday so I head there to get another. After feeding my face I walk through Excalibur and Luxor and head into Mandalay Bay and first it’s a walk around the shops and in particular the memorabilia shops that they have there. I then go for a beer or two in Ri Ra and then back to one of the shops to make an enquiry about a memorabilia piece, he gives me his best price which is still a bit high for me and I tell him I will think about it.

I catch the tram back to Excalibur and have a walk across to Tropicana where I have not been for quite a while, I have a walk about before getting to the bar for some VP and a few beers I put $100 in and I’m down about $40 by the time I walk away, the guy behind the bar suggests I get a players card as you get back up to $200 back in free play on any losses on your first session, I sign up for the card and I need to play on it in the next 24 hours and I decide to come back the next day.
I go across to NYNY and I’m a bit hungry so I go to Nine Fine Irishman to get something to eat, I get the chicken pot pie which is always filling and after that I make my way up to Mirage for a rest and eventually a shower, but as I make my way up the Strip I notice a vehicle I recognise as it rolls past me and it’s Horny Mike’s bus from Counting Cars, luckily he’s stuck in traffic so I get the chance to get a picture and the door is open so I can see Mike inside and he acknowledges me.

After a shower and a rest I get ready and head out to get a cab to Down town and I get dropped near Binions, I have a walk around and I decide to call into Downtown Grand and it’s actually the first time I have ever been in here and I grab a beer here and I’m off back out and eventually I reach Golden Gate and have a few beers in there while chatting to the staff.
After leaving there I get a cab back to the Strip and my first port of call is Tilted Kilt for a couple then into O’Sheas and then Harrahs before I end up at Mirage where one of the working girls offers me some company and fun which I decline politely, I finish my drink then head to bed.

    Tuesday 26th May

The late nights are catching up and I’m awake at about 1pm, I get up and wake myself up and get freshened up and I catch a cab down to NYNY and I grab a foot long to feed my appetite and then it’s across to Tropicana to see if I lose anything at VP. I sit at the bar and have a problem with the machine and somebody has to come and reset it. So I start again and I’m steadily and slowly building up a profit and soon I hit 4 8’s so that bumps it up and then after a while I hit 4 aces and soon after that I hit 4 kings and I end up cashing out $150 up.

I get a cab up to Mirage and I head back to my room for a shower and change and then out to TI for something to eat and after filling up I have a walk down to Cosmo and a drink at Chandelier bar and then I cross over and have a drink at Twin Peaks, then down to Paris for a couple and then on to the Tilted Kilt for a couple more, next it’s O’Sheas then onto the piano bar at Harrahs, I end the night at Mirage sports bar.

    Wednesday 27th May

I’m awake for about 2pm and eventually pull myself out of bed and get freshened up, I get a cab over to the Rio as my son wants a Counts Kustoms t shirt and I can get it from his Tattoo place, I stop off at the bar and after a beer I feel much better, and I hit the VP feeling lucky after yesterday’s win, but my luck must of finished yesterday and after a while I’m down to about $20 and I decide to see it through to the end but I hit 4 8’s and it boosts it a little but still down after the session.

I decide it time for food and I head to Burger King to fill up and then I get the T shirt from Count’s Tattoo’s, I get a cab back to Mirage and have a shower and rest before getting changed and I make my way out and get a cab Downtown and I get dropped at Golden Gate and I have a few drinks in there before leaving and getting a cab back to the Strip, I head to Tilted Kilt for a couple of beers and then across to O’Sheas. I’m sat there having a drink when two women sit next to me, I’m assuming they are working girls as they refuse a drink when the barman tries to serve them. After about 10 minutes 3 security men turn up and I’m trying to listen to the conversation but the music is a bit loud but I do hear the words trespassing and arrested mentioned to them and they are escorted away.
I stop by the sports bar in Mirage for a couple of last drinks before bed.

    Thursday 28th May

I’m awake at about 2pm and after quite a while I get up and wake myself up and get freshened up and I go across to Macdonalds to get some lunch before having a walk around the Linq and getting a drink at the bar, I walk down to Cosmo and I get a drink and see if any board members are around and I notice a group of people gathered and I notice the wristband on one of the guys wrist so I go over. It was nice to meet some of you guy and girls off here, my apologies as I can’t remember all the names, but I remember chatting to Money to burn and Boy Wonder and another lady from Canada who I chatted to and can’t remember her name once again apologies.
After the meet up I went across to Paris for a drink before making my way around to Tilted Kilt for a few and then onto O’Sheas and then Harrahs before ending up in Mirage for one last drink and declining a lady of the night for the last time this trip.

    Friday 29th May

I’m awake about 8am although I don’t have to get up till about 10am and eventually 10am comes around and I get up and get washed and I’m nearly packed so it’s just the last few bits to pack up and ready to go, I do the key drop checkout as the line is a bit long for the desk, the taxi line is also longish but it doesn’t take to long before I’m in the cab and headed to the airport.
Check in is quick and the flight is on time and we make good time and the flight arrives in Manchester nearly an hour early, so that’s it until October for the lads trip.

That was me at the Cosmo....the lady from Canada lol. Was nice meeting you. You sure covered a lot of territory on your trip. Most of those places, I have never been to. I definitely need to plan a downtown trip to hit some of those places.

I like that you wander around, getting a drink here and there. You must be in great shape to walk all up and down the Strip. Great way to do Vegas!

    Thanks for posting!!

    Nice report!

And nice hit with the Aces at the Trop! And I'll add the game to the list!

Probably a good thing you did the loss rebate now. Who knows if that will last since Penn gaming bought them out.

I wouldn't say great shape lol but I can walk a fair bit, I tended to visit the same bars mostly but they are bars I enjoy drinking in, October's trip is a little different as there are 5 of us and we are stopping Downtown so will be a bit different but I will be visiting the Strip at least a couple of nights
