    My Trip Report

May 15-19 Trip Report: RIO, HOT SPRINGS, RED ROCK CANYON, and WINNING![ (HOPEFULLY!!!!)

It's been over 18 months since my last trip and this will serve as a much needed vacation and getaway with my girlfriend, a Vegas virgin.

Planned activities, so far, include a hiking trip to the hot springs at Gold Strike Canyon, some light walking on the trails at Red Rock Canyon, relaxing poolside at the Rio, redeeming some MyVegas rewards, possibly the car show at Fremont Street, drinking a ton of adult beverages, enjoying cigars and hopefully WINNING!!!

For the TR, I will just refer to my girlfriend as "VV." She has never been and has generally played penny slots at the local casino the few times we have gone. I will play anything with good odds. I prefer to play hold em, but I will play blackjack, baccarat, craps for table games. I've slowly been switching my slot play to JOB and DDB, but I am still a sucker for LOTR, Star Wars, Wizard of Oz, etc slot machines.

We will be flying out nonstop out of CVG Friday morning via Frontier. I haven't used Frontier in years, but got a good rate of $251.00 after seats and checked bags were paid for! SOLID DEAL, considering we would drive all the way to CMH or IND to fly Southwest when you could find fares for $280 when I first started going to Vegas in 2009.

    TRIP REPORT WILL BEGIN SOON!

Picking up essential Vegas items. Always take Airborne leading up to my trip, or Vitamin C/Zinc supplements. I got sick out there before and basically spent an entire day in the hotel room, so sick O couldn't move! And generally coming back home from Vegas I've gotten sick. ..but thats probably from the days and nights of pounding alcohol! Maybe its a placebo effect....but I swear I haven't gotten sick since started taking the supplements prior to my trips there. And the FLINTSTONES.... pop a few with some water right before bed, and wake up feeling refreshed with no hangover! I understand some use pedialyte for that purpose....[IMG]

Some chip porn from a few hour grind session yesterday! Hope V.V. can bring some luck to the craps table this weekend. Shes never played craps, just watched!! Prob will have to play down on Fremont or Casino Royale for some low limit craps that she would feel comfortable playing with me. [IMG]

Just under 3 days left before landing in Vegas! About a month ago, I really wasn't looking forward to staying at the Rio. V.V. was the one who picked it out. She said she wanted something away from the craziness, and with decent pool options. I checked my CET comp options and decided Rio would fit her requirements. My first trip in 2009 I stayed at the Rio and that was when I fell in love with Vegas and the strip, since then I've always stayed on the strip.

    Friday A.M Plans:
    - Arrive in Vegas around 0815. Hop on the shuttle bus to the rental center and use the Alamo kiosk to save time with our car rental.
-Take V.V. on a drive of the strip before we check in to our hotel. Also stop at a convenience store to pick up items for the room.
-Start the trip by drinking at the pool.
-Change and start a strip walk, stopping in each casino for a drink
-Dinner using myVegas 2-for-1 at Samba at the Mirage

Just a low key day there since will be adjusting from the time difference and waking up at 4AM our time 1AM Vegas time for our flight there!

Drive to the airport was fast and made it with plenty of time to spare. Although I-75 was full of potholes, I'm sure the drivers behind us thought we were drunk as I was swerving all over the place to avoid them. Got to Valupark at CVG and the shuttle to the airport is bouncing all over the place, about to throw my breakfast up!!

[IMG] always have the farthest boarding gate when flying it seems. Taking the people mover instead of exercising!

Was just at the Rio last weekend. Looking forward to your report and pictures!

    HAVE FUN!!!!!!

P.S. Give the Epic Monopoly machines a try. They are over by the restrooms nearest the Carnival World Buffet. Put in $100 and play $2 per spin. If you hit any bonuses, they can really be substantial!!!

Follow it up with chicken and waffles, of course. [IMG]

Gonna be sporadic reporting today, gonna show V.V. the city and keep it low key until night time.
