For those that have stayed there in the past few months...How far along are the room renovations? Which room types have they renovated?

We are staying at Delano but we would change if the right rooms were available.

Delano has been completed renovated, not sure about MB ... I'd stay at Delano if you have a good deal.. rooms are beautiful!

My comp says suite....is there a specific Mandalay Bay suite I should request? Looks like they have many different ones according to the website.

Again I recommend asking to be "upgraded" to the Delano, all suite hotel .. quieter, prettier and easy access to fast elevators..

If in MB, quite a few of the suites are not really suites, but larger rooms with very large/nice bathrooms.. i.e Great Room Suite, Elite King, Executive King, etc.). Go to their website, but I think you want a Sky View Suite. I believe I've stayed in that one as well as the Great Room Suite (which is not technically a suite) and what I didn't like about the Great Room was the wacko layout of placing the bed in front of the window. Looks like the Resort King and Resort Queen are the newly remodeled rooms at MB... they look nice. Honestly, even the standard room are bigger than many at 550 to 625 sq feet and I love the bathrooms.. I don't think you can go wrong at Mandalay Bay or Delano!

I agree with staying at the Delano, which is much newer and nicer. The offers I get also say that you are supposed to get suite upgrades at Mandalay, but we have been burned several times when checking in and they say that there are no suites available and we end up with a non suite room. They are okay, but not as nice as the Delano.

As others have said Delano, we just came back from a stay the 8-11th and were able to upgrade our comp to Delano from MB. We stayed in a Great Room "suite" last stay and it was as others have mentioned a suite in name only, larger room but still just one room. Delano did a complete remodel when they changed from THEHotel and it is real nice there with the most comfortable bed outside Aria we have stayed in.
