So were headed out to MB next week and I've never really ventured out onto the beach and pool area there. I've been reading reviews and people say it can get crowded, so set up a cabana.

I'm more than happy to do but I have a few questions. Do they expect you to buy alcohol in the cabanas(we have little kids with us)? What's the difference between the pool and the beach in relation to cabanas? Where do I want my cabana? What are the cabanas like?

Thank you. And any other Mandalay Bay Cabana information would be appreciated.

I haven't done it in a while and don't recall the alcohol situation, but I believe that it's not expected, though you can order it. Pool vs. beach is mostly a location and cabana type issue; there's a link on the website, and here's a map:

My biggest piece of advice, though, is to call post-haste. A year or two ago I tried to call down a couple days in advance to see about a cabana, and was told that they were completely booked. Early-to-mid April might not be as bad as during proper summer, but they definitely sell out during peak periods.

I get a cabana there every time I go in warm weather.

    1) You do not have to spend a penny on food and beverage if you don't want to.

    2) There are cabanas spread all over the pool area - some closer to wave pool, some literally in the middle of the lazy river, some around the East and West lagoon pools, etc

    3) Cabanas vary a lot in terms of what you get... and what you pay. I suggest you spend a few minutes on the web site - http://www.mandalaybay.com/beach/pools-and-cabanas.

I can make some recommendations if you can tell me:

    - Do you have a budget?
    - How many people?
    - Do you want to be nearer to the music (DJ like beats) or in a quieter area?

My favorites are the West Lagoon cabanas (#18 thru #20 gets latest sun). good for 6 to 8 people coming and going. $575/day in early May weekend days.

i think you have to be accompanied by adult when entering the main pool gate if under 16. That is only restriction.

(Moorea Beach Club is 21+ only)

Hey thanks for the helpful feedback everyone.

    To get more specific:
    1. No budget. My host will arrange whichever I need.
    2. We are 7 people, 3 adults, 2 mid 20's, and 2 children. But we won't all necessarily be using it at the same time.
    3. Probably a quieter area.

My Girlfriend and I had a cabana last summer at MB. We paid $550 for a West Lagoon Cabana on a Friday in late June. It was very nice and quiet and we spent the whole day there. The fridge was stocked with Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, and water, all included. They came around every hour and filled the fridge with whatever we used. Also 2 tubes for the lazy river are included. A TV and a safe were inside our cabana. You are not obligated to buy anything else, but we ate twice and had a few drinks between swimming and laying out. We had great service, but I tipped the cabana hostess $50 first thing. Hope this helps.
