So Delano does not have the "romantic" vibe to me but it is a very nice hotel. The standard rooms have a seating area and bedroom. Bathrooms are very nice for a standard room.
Why it doesnt get the romantic vote for me is the new decor seems very sterile. Everything is white and clean looking. I stayed in a Panoramic Dec 14 and although the view was better, I prefer the regular view room, because it has double the closet space and 2x the amount of drawer space for clothes. There is only one small stand up wardrobe in the panoramic.
Another thing that I dislike about Delano is their room service selection and room set up. There is only a couch and coffee table in those rooms not really anywhere to sit and have coffee. They have tried to go to a more modern style of room service. I do think these rooms are a great value for the space you get though.

I love Mandalay Bay as a property because it doesnt get near as much traffic and it seems very very easy to walk from MB up through Luxor, Excal to get to the other Mlife properties. Casino is good. I think MB spa is a little better than Delano, but I was at Delano this Dec during alot of renovations so it wasnt very relaxing to me. The spa is very small.

I stayed at Delano for 2 nights last April and I thought the vibe was awesome. I wasn't there with anyone for a romantic trip, but I can tell you that I thought everything was really nice. I get that some people think it seems "sterile", but I guarantee if I had brought a date with me, it would have been very romantic! lol I can't speak on MB but I can tell you that if you stick with Delano, I don't think you'll be disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am going to push for a room there in a few days!

    Enjoy yourself

    Romantic vibe....no.

Will you enjoy your stay there? Yes.

Dining options....widest array on the strip for all budgets. This is the closest thing to "the vibe" that you will get. Charlie Palmers restaurant is a must. RM Seafood was very good. Both restaurants should give you that. Next door at the Luxor is Tender steakhouse. Another great choice. Foundation room to overlook the strip. The list goes on and on.

Night life....plenty of options again. MJ show is awesome.

Read some trip reports from people who have stayed there. You won't be disappointed.

    Enjoy!!!

I love the Delano, it's my favorite place to stay on the Strip, liked it when it was The Hotel also. I like having the living room and love the two toilets!
The bar in the lobby has great cocktails, the food at Della Kitchen is great, don't miss the chicken and waffles, and I'm looking forward to seeing what they remodeled Mix into this trip!
Enjoy your trip, your girl would be crazy not to enjoy it.

I stayed at the Delano over Labor Day last year. I really enjoyed the hotel - the rooms were big and spacious, and I really liked the "all white" decor. The master bath is huge, and the half-bath is a nice perk.

I like the Mandalay Bay/Delano complex. As others will say, the only real problem with MB is that it is at the end of the strip and tends to be a bit more quiet. The hotel and Delano lobby can definitely feel quiet. I had good drinks at the Delano bar but it was not a "happening" scene for sure. there are a TON of good restaurants. Della's Kitchen was really good. The best meal we had the entire trip was brunch at Border Grill, absolutely fantastic.

The tram will get you to the corner of the Excalibur fairly quickly with a short walk over to MGM or NYNY.

The point about the spas are a good one. If you are there for 8 days, your girlfriend can access both spas to change things up.

No one mentioned it, but as the days should be starting to warm up by the end of April... the pool complex at MB is the best in Vegas.

Bottom line - I think you will enjoy it!

We've stayed at MB several times and have never been disappointed. The pool area at MB is definitely one of the best, if not the best, in Vegas. So relaxing to go to the Lazy River first thing in the morning for a leisurely 'float' to start the day :) My only complaint would be the lack of a 24 hour food court but there is one at Luxor, which is close by, or a McDonald's across the street. :)

MB/Delano is home resort as it provides all the things we like without the pace of central strip. There are many other resorts that would provide more of a romantic tone Bellagio/Aria/Cosmo. For us though the serenity of MB/Delano works.

I second the recommendation for Charlie Palmer Steak (located in the Four Seasons portion of MB complex) and Rm Seafood. At Luxor, Tacos & Tequila (a 3 minute walk through the Shops at Mandalay) offers an extensive selection of tequilas: reposados and Anejos (including some organics) and Mexican food.
The Foundation Room (at the top of the MB tower) lounge patio (located behind the bar) offers a great view of the Strip. It's my favorite place to watch the sun set with a strong drink.
There are three spas at the MB complex: The Spa at Four Seasons (my fav), Bathhouse at Delano, and Spa Mandalay.
I forgot to mention that at MB we stay most often at the Four Seasons. We have stayed at Delano at least 4 times since its transition from THEhotel. Our most recent stay at Delano was over NYE (12/30/15 thru 1/4/16).

    Enjoy your visit!

If you really want romantic vibe go to Venetian/Palazzo. Likely more expensive, but they definitely have a much higher romance factor, to include the gondolas! MB is a very nice property as well.

You will absolutely love the Delano.

I'm going there next month only because I absolutely loved it when I was there in September.

I've stayed in almost every MGM property (except for Vdara) and the Delano is perfect once you've been there done that. You are coming here in April which is a great time to be at the pool. Because Delano is part of the Mandalay Bay, you have access to all their pools and Delano even has their own pool. This is far away from all of the ruckus on the strip but you can still walk to NYNY or even Aria if you're up to it without a problem.

Get used to the Mandalay Bay as your casino but fall in love with Delano the hotel. Click the link below and look at the property maps and get acquainted.

Also visiting the MB/Delano twice a year but staying at Four Seasons. What we like is, that its not to crowded like the Bellagio and other mid strip properties. Some might say the location of the Hotel is bad, but its really not that far away from MGM or MC (from there take the Tram and you are at Aria and Bellagio in no time)

To the OP: If you want to impress your girlfriend move to Four Seasons for some nights!! There Pool and level of service is amazing (and you still can use MB/Delano facilities)
