    Hi guys

First of all thank you for reading.

It feels like I've done as much research as I can and am totally stuck with which week to book.

It's my 30th birthday and im going to be spending a lot of hard-earned money so am determined to book the right week.

I am torn between going for the week of Labour Day 31st August - 6 September or either of the two September weeks thereafter (7-13th or 14th-20th)
I'm looking to go Wednesday to Tuesday.

Some people seem to be saying avoid Labour day week - too crowded.

    Other people are saying go.

I'm not big on the nightclubs but would be looking to go to pool parties (not sure how much they run after labour day?) and the casinos/ hotel bars.

Please could someone advise on their experiences?

Is Labour Day too intense/ crowded/ difficult to get a drink etc?

Are the September week's afterwards busy enough to have good pool parties?

If you were a single guy, looking to meet girls and have fun please let me know what you think would be best!

    Thanks again

    Cliff

I was there Labor Day weekend in 2013. I stayed at The Flamingo. It was definitely very, very busy, but a great time! I'd recommend hitting the pool up early so you can get a good spot if you choose Labor Day weekend. If your going with some friends maybe all chip in and rent a cabana! I do remember it taking a while to get drinks. I also think they had deals on the prices in the early part of the day, like before 1pm or something like that.

I was there again this past September (around the 20th) so a couple weeks after Labor Day and it wasn't as crazy busy. We didn't hit up the pools that time though.

Labor Day weekend is the last 'hurrah' of the summer and Las Vegas is packed. Packed to the point that it's hard to walk down the Strip, get on a decent table game, and Oh, KIDS! Families last chance to get away and resorts are filled with kids. And where do kids in Las Vegas have to hang? At the pools. Busy and kids...I would go any other time. The Strip and Downtown are always cranking in the evenings and the weekends are always jammed with partiers. I plan on scheduling a trip the week after Labor Day, ~Sept 7-21 as I go for 2 weeks.

For the last two years, I have gone on a "guys" trip to Vegas with a small handful of friends over Labor Day weekend. The draw for us is that is the opening weekend of college football. While it is busy, I did not find it any busier than any other weekend I have ever been in Vegas. It is definitely NOT "too crowded".

Pool parties will still be in full swing either weekend.

FWIW, I have been looking ahead at this September. Room rates are higher for the following weekend, which is the opening weekend of the NFL season.

I have been there during Labor day and September 15-18th, they are both dates where Vegas is crowded. Labor day is obvious why, and September 16th is Mexican independence day so there is always a boxing match and the strips is full of Mariachi bands (which is cool)

Last Sept I spent 11 days in Vegas---before,during and after Labor Day weekend....never again. I have been to Vegas dozens of times...Super Bowl, all of the major holidays(except New Years) and never before encountered as many people in town. I stayed at the Flamingo and I am glad I am a Diamond player; the check in lines were enormous, many times the diamond players were the only ones allowed to use valet for parking, table minimums were high and the sidewalks were crowded everywhere. A younger guy like the OP would have a good time at the pool/clubs, but I am well past that scene. If the pool parties are a big thing for you, then go for it.....the weeks after Labor Day are far less crowded and the weather is still great, which is why I usually book a trip in the middle of Sept...in fact I am making my reservations later this week.

    two September weeks thereafter
It will be just a bit less crazy, wait times, finding a table or slot, bar seat.

Either or for me, but I don't enjoy travelling on long weekends, but if you are not leaving till the Tuesday the airport won't be as bad as the Monday. I'm a tsa precheck so not bad for me but if I'm with someone who is not...those line ups are nasty. Now, as far as day clubs go, my sons usually pick their spots due to which DJ's are headlining, but you won't get that info yet for September. And as a guy, you will be paying more than girls. They've been to almost all of them by now, but fav's I think are Drais, Hard Rock, Daylight, Encore. It will be busy, and as someone mentioned the last hurrah for kids, but I'm leaning Long Weekend if you are going solo.
