I called the LVH and told them about a price on Otel and asked them to match and they said no because the company is not in the US. They did say that Otel does book a lot of rooms with them. This to me is perplexing/

That happened to me @ Mandalay Bay a few years ago, although they told me if I would book with them, then send them a screen shot, then fill out a Guaranteed Lowest Price form; they would check it out and see what they might be able to do. Not being flexible enough to jump through all their hoops (LOL), I declined their offer. Does LVH have that guarantee? And would it be worth it, if they did? There have been a lot of posts re: LV hotels matching prices, but we are not the first two that this happened to I'll bet.

Last year, my wife jumped through those hoops for a Cosmo offer and scored a fountain view terrace for around $75.00 a night.

I dont find it odd at all. even walmart does not match prices with the stuff it sells on its own website.

They offer those discounted rooms to fill the hotel. If they gave that rate to everyone who asked it would ruin the process and eventually they would have to discontinue offering discounted rooms to other sites.

Having worked in a hotel it is not weird to me either. Our parent company would run the deals and pay the difference at hotel level. The only way to book them was online. Customers in front of me i would send over to the computer and tell them to book at the site and wait for me to get it.

Hassle yes, but that is the only way we would get paid for it.

Then just book through Otel :). Sometimes the deals are just too good to pass up. Not worth paying more in order to get points.

Yes they do have good deals less than $40 a night.
