The last time we were in Vegas we were given a LVA coupon book. It was not our membership so I didn't have any passwords or online access.

I'm thinking of purchasing the LVA coupon book for our upcoming trip. My question is: I see on their website they have access to 'Members Only' coupons and information. What other type of coupons are availble in the 'Members Only' section? More 2 for 1 buffets, match plays, room disounts?

Trying to decide if it's worth purchasing.

    Thanks for any input.

Here is a link to the "members only" section of the website where you can see which coupons are available to members before you sign up (there are also "free for anyone" coupons in the left side column! You only have to register as a free member of the site to download the coupons):

I think it's worth the money. In addition to the great coupon book you also get a monthly newsletter that and a daily e-mail with a Question of the Day about Vegas. Both are very informative. One "members only" online coupon that I used last year was a $100 free play rebate at Terrible's.

    Hope this helps.

One important thing to know that they do not tell you when you sign up - you have to pay extra for shipping if you want the coupon book mailed to you, otherwise they "hold it" for pickup in their offices when you get to Vegas (and I passed by their offices once - very out of the way).

There should be an option to pay for shipping when you purchase it, but there is not - and they don't tell you a thing. I had to wait for weeks until I finally called up to find out why I had not yet received the book before they told me I had to send an additional payment for postage if I wanted them to ship it to my home.

I have been reading the free LVA for years and paid finally this year to join. Do not make the mistake I did...do the $37 membership and print out your monthly copy at home...I paid $50 for them to mail it to me, I don't get it until the 10th of the month and have already read it online before I get it anyways. You do have to pay for them to mail you the coupon book or you can pick it up (I believe) at their office, not far from the Rio. To be honest, I thought that the paid member Forum would be hopping, it is not and this forum is MUCH better. If you buy it make sure you go to the Mirage buffet for dinner...2/1 coupon and the price is $28 pp....almost pays for it right there. I bought it this year specifically for the 2/1 Human Nature coupon (we planned on that show this year)...Unfortunately the show went on tour and was not playing during our dates. Checkout the list of coupons, newsletter is nice to read...some of the new online coupons are free for anyone, sign up with your email and you can print them out.

I used to buy it every year

But SO many of the coupons I can get free online or in the magazines on the strip; or in the much cheaper American Casino Guide. Just isn't worth it anymore without the matchplays from before. And the online member's only coupons aren't very good either.

BUT I recommend looking at the list of coupons for yourself & decide if it is worth the value to you. Breaking even isn't enough for me to tie me down to the coupons.

I agree about the forum; NOT worth the $---here & tripadvisor are my daily friends:nworthy:
