I've been away from the Vegas Message Board for a couple of years. I haven't been to Sin City since May of 2015.
So, booked for November 22-November 30 at Luxor. I've never stayed with them, but I have gambled there; I prefer the south end of the Strip.
✔️Anyone stayed at Luxor recently? How'd you like it? I appreciate any and all feedback.

    (Oh, I missed you folks!)

IMHO, stay in a tower, not in the pyramid. Having a pyramid room and riding in an inclinator is cool for about 5 minutes. The tower rooms are nicer. The Luxor is a decent place. A good value. I like the location.

We stayed there two years ago. We unexpectedly liked it. We had a pyramid room, which of course, was just ok (and worn). We're going back in August and have a Tower room booked. Like you, we prefer a South strip location and this fit nicely.

Luxor is my home base. As a platinum player, I like it because it's where I get to be the big fish and get treated well. It's not that nice but it's easy to rooms there. It's also close to many other places, as you've noted. I'm also not super pretentious, so it works well. I also stayed at Cosmo my last trip and while I love the property, I don't care much for the crowd there.

Our home casino is Luxor, we enjoy it there it's central to the casino's we frequent. The tower rooms are miles above the pyramid in my opinion. If you want to face the airport/strip and are staying in a tower room; ask for East tower, facing east. We find it friendly, but we've been going there for years now and have gotten to know some of the staff. If you need any information about it please ask away, I'll be more than happy to help out :)

    Thank you all!
I do my best gamblin' at New York-New York, Excalibur, Luxor, and MGM, so this is a good fit for me (I think).
Plus, the buffet at Luxor has never disappointed me. And there's plenty of fast food joints at Luxor and Excalibur.

Oh, the nearest CVS or Walgreens?
(I'm booked for a delux room, been told I'd receive an upgrade. Even offered a suite for an additional $50 per day. Worth that?).

Nearest CVS is between Monte Carlo and the Mandarin, so not a far walk at all. Walgreen's is across the street walking north from MGM Grand about 5-10 minutes depending on foot traffic.

Are you going to be in the room much? The deluxe room is the standard room in either the pyramid or tower, do you know which you booked? It sounds like you are booked pyramid and they will upgrade you to a tower deluxe. The suites are ok, if you look at my last trip report there are pictures of the Luxury suite (I didn't take pictures of the bathroom, they have double sink, separate tub/shower, but the separate tub/shower is standard for all tower rooms). I don't know if I would pay $50 a night for the extra room, but it might be worth it to you if you spend more time in the room that we do :)

I will be staying at Luxor first time in Thursday, couldn't pass it up since 3 free weekend days $75 fp and $100 rc which is good for a low roller like me. I have a tower room reserved and will be doing a live trip report which will have my view of staying at the Luxor first time

Got the same deal and just booked a stay the weekend of the 4th of July. It will be our first stay there too, booked a tower room. We like the casino and aren't picky room people so I'm sure we'll enjoy it.

I've stayed there a couple times. Def considered on the "low end" of MGM properties but you can't beat the prices. Also very easy access to MB.

Agree with the above, try to get a tower room if you can. Still no frills but more updated than the Pyramid rooms and easier to get in and out of.

The interior of the Pyramid has a weird vibe to it, it's kinda dark and sound echos around a bit in there but it's plenty big and has lots of places to grab a drink. If you're eating onsite Tender is a surprisingly good steakhouse.

I've stayed at Luxor many times - since you are going at the end of November the pool is probably closed but for future reference the West Tower is best if you want to be close to the pool and spa. I've never had a bad stay there and it's one of my favorite casinos to gamble in.
