Through MyVegas we were able to get a free room plus another night at $28 with food credit and the possibility of a free upgrade. What room/tower should we ask for. We've never stayed at Luxor before but it was too good a deal to pass up. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

West Tower, NorthEast facing high room would be your best bet for a nice strip view

I was just there and was in the west tower but Northwest facing, we had a great view of the Excal pool and the new T-Mobile Arena, but I would have loved to be on the East side of the west tower to look up the strip.

I stayed in a pyramid room using a myVegas comp last year and I would not do it again. Room was beat up, AC was weak, the bathroom was poor, and the inclinators are really slow. I will not stay there again. I'm passing up $300 in Free play by not staying there this trip and I don't regret it for a second.

The East Tower is right near check-in and the casino. If you don't like making a long haul to the back of the property don't choose the West Tower, make it the East. However, the West Tower is near the pool.

In any event, the tower rooms are night and day compared to the pyramid.

I didn't realize that there were 2 towers. Is one any better than the other? I don't necessarily need to be closer to the pool as I don't think we will use it because my friend had a cabana at Mandalay Bay. I will definitely ask for one of the towers after what I've read and everyone's comments.

You basically don't want a room in the pyramid as they're older and more worn.

East Tower facing East will put looking at Las Vegas Blvd. Luxor is our home and we always take the East Tower facing East to face the airport and get a bit of a strip view. I should add that the Strip view from the Luxor is very limited, some is better than none if you want to view the strip. The view from our last trip here: http://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/index.php?attachments/img_1435-1-jpg.23593/

We have stayed in the pyramid and both towers, the Luxor is our home casino when we visit Vegas and all rooms have had a "refresh". In my opinion, it's an ok hotel if you aren't looking for 5 star quality. The bathrooms are large and beds we find comfortable, and our thoughts are "who is in a room in Vegas". It's used as a place to crash and refresh.

Thank you Slotchick! The view from the room you had is fine. We really are not in the room that much but I want a decent place to stay and the deal from MyVegas is pretty much a steal!

I agree stay away from pyramid room. We stayed there a few years ago for one night. I asked for a very high floor in the pyramid... if I remember the pyramid was so small up there that we could just about stand in one spot and see the entire floor. As others mentioned the inclinators were horribly slow and it was DAMN hot in the room. At least it was just the first night and then we moved on to The Hotel (at the time) and had a great trip. I am glad I checked it out and so glad to never go back.
