    Dear All,

In a weeks time I am staying at Luxor for 5 nights - I normally stay at MB or TheHotel - but for some reason this time the offers I have available to me are all for Luxor?!?!? - so I would like to give them a go!

Obvioulsy I understand the two resorts are a different standard - but was hoping that people would be able to give me some help with the following:

Is it better to be in the towers or the Pyramid? Why?

I always have grand plans to take it easy by the resort pool - and before I know it I am at the BJ table or legging it down the strip - but either way what is your opinion on the luxor pool?

Thanks for reading and any help/guidance you can give,

    All the best,

    MG

last I was there, the towers were more recently updated than the pyramid. Rooms are also larger and you don't bang your head every time you look out the window because of the angled wall.

I Like the Luxor pool a lot. Not as nice as MBay, but not bad at all

I stayed in the towers last time, and having been in a pyramid room before for the minimal price upgrade the towers are far better. Not only are they larger, more spacious and not slanted, but they're so much quieter than the pyramid rooms because the front door of your room isn't overlooking the entire hotel complex.

My only real issue with the Luxor is it's slightly too south strip for me now, but if you're used to MB and TheHotel then this won't be a problem at all.

I've only stayed in the tower room, but last trip my brother had a room in the pyramid and said it wasn't as 'new' as mine, and the noise was annoying but nothing too unbearable. It was obvious my tower room had been updated recently.

2 things I couldn't stand at Luxor: No wifi (at all) and no safe in the room. Very annoying to use the lock boxes downstairs.

The tower rooms are much bigger and better than the pyramid rooms. Also the rooms although somewhat updated had alot of mold issues if it rained, os stay in the tower.

As far as the pool, it's ok. It depends on what you are looking for. It's just ok. It's not like Mandalay Bay's pool.

I've stayed in both the Tower & Pyramid rooms. The Tower rooms are bigger and a little nicer, but I like the Pyramid rooms too. I've bumped my head on the slanted walls, but the inclinator is pretty neat. The pool is average to slightly above average.

    The pyramid rooms are neat:
    - you get up there via the inclinator (elevator on an angle)
    - you can look over the railing outside your room to the casino and plaza below
    - the wall is angled in your room because its a pyramid

But the pyramid rooms can be a little dark and the tower rooms are generally just better looking bigger rooms.

I think they have a nice pool area. I would have preferred it if they had more shaded areas though. During the summer months around 11AM-2PM the sun does bounce off the pyramid and reflect in to the pool area so some spots can get extra hot - going this time of year it shouldn't be an issue, but when its 110 degrees out in July you don't need to double up on the sun :)

Go with an East Tower room.

Very easy/quick access from the registration desk.

I agree with the comments in this thread. However, I wanted to stay in the pyramid because I have never stayed in a pyramid and like the unique structure.

I was offered a Tower room on my comp offer but was able to switch to a pyramid spa room. The rooms furnishings were older but you have a nice jetted tub (my room faced the Tropicana & McCarran) and a small separate TV room.

A regular guest may prefer the tower rooms due to the newer accommodations, but if you have never stayed in a pyramid, you may want to see what type of room you can get in your offer and weigh the pros and cons vs. a tower room as others have stated.
