I'll be in Vegas with a buddy 4/21-4/24. I have 3 nights comped downtown at MSS, but will be using my $75 Sporting House certificate Monday night at NYNY and would like to stay on the strip that night. I have enough points to get one night at Luxor in a Pyramid Deluxe room for 41,500 LPs or one night at Excalibur in a Tower room for 27,500 LPs. Which room would you recommend?

    Thanks!

The two rooms are pretty comparable and neither stands out as anything special or exception above the other.

I would probably go with Excalibur:
    - The Luxor check in is one of the slowest on The Strip and has always had the longest lines I've ever seen
    - I prefer the Excalibur food court over the one at Luxor
    - Excalibur is closer to NYNY than Luxor
    - For slots and VP the Excalibur casino has a better overall selection
    - For table games neither really stands out - Excalibur is usually busier at the tables than Luxor, but Luxor generally has higher limits

Excal is a very easy walk to NYNY

And most important: it's 14,000 points less than the Luxor. The room is not 50% better than Excalibur's.

I guess I am going against the grain. But I think the Excalibur has an awful smell and like a stale air walking through it. Ive always just assumed it was from the horses and the guy who I once saw there smoking through a hole in his neck. I still feel like puking when I tell the tale.

Luxor is a much nicer property than Excalibur in my opinion, and connected to Mandalay Bay. Which was a plus for me. But the pyramid rooms aren't that exciting... and they are shaped funny because it's a pyramid... But I'd still rather be there than the outdated rooms at Excalibur.

I would go for Luxor, see if you can get a tower room those are wonderful! Sad they took that award away.

I really can't recommend Excalibur, especially if you have a choice! It's not THAT much closer to anything than Excalibur is. The casino is gross.. I'd much rather be in Luxor, it's fairly updated. Maybe that's just me. Luxor is a 4 star property, Excalibur is a 3 star.

I agree with both above posters. I didn't like anything about the Excalibur casino. It's really dingy and scungy. The Luxor is much nicer. Have fun!

I would stay luxor, the rewards for excalibur are for the dirty old rooms.

Just to throw my 2 cents worth in here - Just came back from Luxor staying in one of the Pyramid Deluxe rooms and wow, was it nice! The carpet was new, the furniture was spotless, the bathroom was great and no mold. I was blown away at the quality of the room. The bed was comfy as well.

I always stay at Paris or once in a while Caesar's or PHo so I do know a nice room when I see it. I would stay at Luxor for sure.

The check-in line was fast and I only waited about 20 minutes in it.

There is a free tram to take you from Luxor to Excal so you can get to NYNY easier, if that was a concern.
