Pretty much a given, the big question is of course will other operators come in and re-open the places are closing on the AC Boardwalk that some refer to as"Camden By The Sea".In case you dont know Camden NJ is a city across the river from Philly often voted the most dangerous place in America. And will more places close? I really hope something positive happens for the thousands of people affected.

I never set foot in the Plaza, because I refuse to give a single cent to Donald Trump. From what I've heard, it was a bottom of the barrel type place anyway. Maybe someone else will purchase it and remodel it and then I might give them some business. I know that a bunch of companies are looking for a way to get into the NJ online gambling market and they need to own a casino in AC to make that happen.

I am in AC right now. A bit drunk and at Morton's. Will go next door to trump plaza to pay respects and see if they still have $1 bj with 25 cent commission. Some big biker looking dude tried to jump my brother and security kicked him out. Crazy!

Now the Trump Plaza, on the Boardwalk, may close on the 16th of September. Atlantic City is quickly loosing both jobs and casino's. Not the happiest of times. :>(

I was in AC this weekend. Only went in to Trump for breakfast. The employees said there was to be a meeting today for them.

Twice. Morgan Stanley walked away from its investment and construction was halted, no BK was filed. The remaining owners received financing to complete it, along with tax credits from the state and it opened on Memorial Day, 2012. Less than a year later the owners declared chapter 11 and filed again last month, it will be auctioned off August 6.

So what are the casinos that are mostly going to shut down this year? Trump Plaza, Showboat and Revel?

I wonder if the losses they took because of Sandy killed them?

I'm surprised that Trump Plaza held on for so long. I guess they were trying to find a buyer but unfortunately could not close a deal.

Breeze147, despite reports, Sandy didn't really affect AC that much. Unlike some other sea side resorts, the AC boardwalk did not suffer extensive damage. Unfortunately, the AC casinos woes are largely from the proliferation of other casinos in nearby states and some missteps by the casinos themselves.
