Long overdue. Harrah's has one of the best names and the best location on the strip.

One of our fave places to stay. Great location. Wish they would do something with the motion-detect AC though

I dont want the rooms to be renovated.

Old rooms are cheaper. reno them all and it drives the price up.

Its always best to have a couple places going downhill to get a bargain.

As one place improves it just means that other places will be of lesser quality and reduce price. If nobody updates rooms you end up with The Riv.

Love the Casino floor at Harrahs. Would definitely consider staying there with nicer rooms

And they've actually made some nice updates to the Casino already. I like the new VP bar, the carpets have been updated, overall it definitely looks less run down than a couple years ago. I like the changes CET is making at it's lower end properties EXCEPT for whatever extent the cost of these changes is causing them to decimate their gambling offerings.

Will never stay there, regardless. Some of the rooms don't have safes, and the pool area is a complete joke. Looks like they had a spare parking lot, and put a pool in the middle of it.

Maybe it's just me but I don't understand how a company that's in the middle of a bancruptcy is able to fund a renovation that's going to cost over 100 million dollars. Not saying the renovation isn't needed but maybe they should worry about getting out of that enormous debt before spending this kind of money.

As long as lenders will lend at decent rates they will borrow and build.

I wish they'd do something about the air conditioning. I won't stay there because I read the A/C goes off when you sleep or leave the room, and I hate having a hot room.

Didn't they already do some work on the casino?

Yes. They were mostly done with it last time I was there. But the rooms have never all been done at the same time if I understand it correctly.

I thought Caesars didn't have any money? Oh wait, check that. They lowered all the vp paytables to cover the expected costs of these renovations.

It's about time they renovated the rooms at Harrah's LV. It doesn't hold a candle to Harrah's AC in its current state.

Oh yeah they definitely need it. I stayed there twice several years ago and while it did the trick for a solo trip the rooms were tired and worn.

The motion detector AC sucks too. If memory serves correct Mirage has that too. I like it cold when I sleep and I hate coming back to the room and it's like the surface of the effing sun in there.

Also - I hope they never get rid of or re-felt the craps table that sits by the exit to the Carnaval Court. That thing is built like an aircraft carrier and is as hard as cement. Great table to shoot on!

Bellaggio has a motion detector AC too. We stayed there last year and as soon as you went to sleep the room got hot I've read where there's an override trick you can Google it

Lets not forget Wynn and MGM started the trend of resort fees. This money was quickly funneled to pay for room renovations without stressing the capital structure
of the rest of the corporate budget. Now however I think some of the properties are socking this money away as additional hotel and rack rate revenue.

CET is at least waiving the resort fees for higher tier players, and calling that a TR perk. Any company that is charging $25 per night in resort fees can well afford to spend 5K per room on a renovation.

Good point on the resort fees.

I don't hate resort fees - especially if they're used for freshening up the property every few years.

Although the greedy suits shouldn't be killing the blackjack odds and the video poker pay tables as well.
