On my next Vegas trip my friend is taking me out for my belated birthday. I chose to wait because a birthday dinner in Vegas will be better no matter what! When I took him out for his birthday last year we went to Olives. I like Mon Ami Gabi a lot but have been there many times. Here is my criteria:

    On the Strip
Price point similar to Olives or Mon Ami Gabi
Not a proper steakhouse, we're going to SW the next night
    Not a seafood place

In a lot of ways I want Mon Ami Gabi but just want something different.

Is this vague enough? Any suggestions?

You might consider Scarpetta's at Cosmo.

Pinot Brasserie at the Venetian has a similar menu to MAG. No view but a little more quiet/intimate.

+1 right here. Bit more "authentic" brasserie quality to it than MAG.

Le Provencal felt like a Mediterranean version of MAG. Rumor was that it is closing but right now it's still in the lineup.

Agree with LeProvencal. Always one of our favorites with the open kitchen. Heard that Steve Martorano is opening a restaurant in that corrider so it does sound like he will take over that space

Thanks all. Some good choices. I'm leaning towards Bouchon.

You won't be disappointed. I like eating breakfast at MAG but still Bouchon is better. But if eating lunch or dinner Bouchon is several steps up from MAG.

Indeed it is, and the price point reflects that.
