I do not have a car. When I did I would drive to the Borgata and play poker. I'm thinking of a day or overnight trip to get a little gambling in. I would play a little poker, VP and blackjack. All low stakes for me. I assume a bus is the way to go. So what's your opinions n the following:

Foxwoods vs. AC. I heard Foxwoods does not serve alcohol late. If that is true that kinda puts a damper on an overnight trip.

If I go to AC my only experience is Borgata but never stayed there. I hear it's a nice hotel but not the cheapest. Opinions on the rooms?

How much hassle to go from wherever the bus goes to the Borgata? I hate cabs, so a shuttle or bus is preferred.

If I stayed on the boardwalk what is a nice hotel and has decent gaming?

Any thoughts appreciated. I'd really like to go to Vegas for 4 days but that may be tough to arrange and budget.

The one bus I know of

Runs from Port Auth. Bus Terminal with a quick off and on stop at Toms River and on to AC. I 'm guessing it goes to the AC Bus Terminal from there you can walk to Bally's Caesars Trump Plaza.
I dont think there are any busses direct to Borgata from NYC,but you can probably grab a jitney over there from the bus terminal. Try the PA terminal website or the NJ TRansit website. Good Luck.

The Greyhound Lucky Streak bus is the main bus line that goes to AC from NYC (port authority). They go all day long and they are direct, no stops anywhere else. Most of the departures go to Ballys but you can get them to other boardwalk casinos as well. It doesn't matter what time your ticket is for, you can use them on any departure. Same for the return. It is also basically $12. You pay $37 but get $25 in freeplay when you arrive.

I haven't taken it in years but it is very straightforward and convenient. The lines for the bus can get long during peak times/days. Some of the crowd can be a bit sketchy, but overall its fine. Here's the link: http://www.luckystreakbus.com/

When you get to Ballys (or wherever along the boardwalk) you can hop on a jitney to get to Borgata. That's only around $2 or something. Getting over to that side (marina) is no hassle at all.

If you decide to stay on the boardwalk instead I'd recommend either Caesars or possibly Revel. I haven't stayed at Revel but everyone agrees the rooms are nice, the property itself isn't really my cup of tea though. Caesars is central and the renovated rooms are pretty nice. Ideally though you should stay at Borgata if you can, or Harrahs right next door. Those are the most Vegas strip type casinos. Especially in this cold weather you're not going to go outdoors and enjoy the boardwalk so no benefit of being on that side unless you like to do a lot of casino hopping.

The Borgata poker room is super nice..Harrah's a bit jammed. but the rooms at Harrah's should be much cheaper than the B.
Harrah's has the free shuttle to their boardwalk properties...Not aware of any shuttles that go to the B.. but can't belive a taxi would not take you back and forth for a few bucks if you played at the B and stayed at Harrah's..
edit after re-reading Kickin's post,so if you can grab a jitney from Bally's to the B you may be all set.

I've seen the Greyhound on the GSP

Didnt know where they were headed for sure. We use the NJ Transit to go to NYC from Toms River ,during midday sketchy is right to describe the crew that is coming from AC.
