    My Trip Report

Scenario: Broke my rule about only non-stops and had booked United BOS -> IAD (Washington) -> LAS for $124 for 2/11. Start checking the InAccu-Weather forecast 15 days out. I need this vacation.

OK, storm of the decade 2 is coming. Cleared up my work sched so I had nothing to do Weds. Not good enough. All bets are off for Thurs.

Start calling the boss Tues a.m., no get in touch. While waiting, have Orbitz up so I can see the options horizontally. Everybody wants to get the hell out of Dodge.

While waiting for boss to call back, ping, ping, ping, airlines keep dropping off.
Boss finally calls back, United website is basically down. United has a travel waiver, no change fee, but no seats over the phone. Screw it, I'll have to take my chances Thursday.

4:15pm. On the Continental website, they list a 6:00pm BOS -> LAX -> LAS seat, operated by United. Bang. Probably $500 less than United was actually charging.

Throw crap in a suitcase, hightail it for the airport. Make it in time.

Smooth flights. Check in at around 12:30am. Make sure I brought the cash.

Proceed to get my effin ass handed to me at a Venetian craps table betting the 6 and 8, but putting the dealers on the line every time I shoot. First foray into Venetian, love the green table, but I never saw so many 4,5,9,10 in my life.

Anyways, color down around $600. "Wish I could give you more" the boxman says.

That's OK, it's good to lose the first night

Hit the room to regroup and then hit a WOZ machine at Palazzo and at least turn a C-note into $250.

Heading back down now to look at the coffee addicts and get the breakfast of champions (a couple nips of Bacardi and a Vitamin water), hit the $5 VP, BEEEJ!

(Countdown clock: I'm not officially here until 2/11)
(If UAL 201 or 796 gets cancelled on Thursday, the refund's all going on 17!)

With this in mind: Pavarotti after a few bad hours at the craps tables:
    strictly translated: Nobody Shall Sleep!
loosely translated (if I remember Pavarotti singing it to the Italian soccer team): I WILL TRIUMPH!

Bonuses on the flights I never should have been on

    1) Free bag o' nuts on the way to LAX when the card reader malfunctioned. (+$3)

[1a) flight attendant it failed on called the plane "The friggin' Ashmont train" which Massholes will get.]

    2) Empty middle seat in the last row LAX -> LAS when the guy on the window apparently couldn't take the antiseptic smell from the lav. I thought the girl in the row just had some Listerine gum or something...

    3) Watching Mr. "We shouldn't partner with a small content provider" Crackberry-guy have to hold his I-pod screen up with one hand for 4 straight hours BOS -> LAX after the movie (The Invention of Lying, 1 star out of 5, standard rom-com with a little anti-religious bent, the broad in front of me who had her seat reclined the whole way but sat forward in the seat loved it) ended.

I'm sick of gettin' my brains beat out, throw a black one one the line, shooter is KSM's third cousin, throws a 7, I get $100 back. Then he throws a 6 for the point, I back it up with $500 and he throws a 6 on the next roll.

The dealers are crying, the cocktail waitresses spontaneously start going down on each other.

That's what happens when you go on vacation a day early.

    Also, no shoveling.

Chuck, to each his own but I like it better when the CWs keep it classy and just make out.
Thanks for the report and I can't wait for the rest

Finally hit the sack around 10:00am yesterday, slept pretty much the whole day, no gaming last night.

I only bought in $500 at the $5 VP which was probably too low, got wiped out pretty fast playing $25 a hand.

Went over to Wynn and picked up my Red Card, then donated $200 to a WOZ machine. Not one Bonus round. WOZ is usually good to me.

Picking up a rental car in a bit, doing a supermarket run, then heading for Aria after lunch for a few hours, then swinging by the airport to pick up some friends.

Best as I can tell, down about a grand for the trip. But aside from the single desperation win, my craps session the first night could hardly have been any worse, so hopefully we get things turned around a little.

I love the "best I can tell" estimates of wins and loses. It usually means..... I have no idea of how much I left on bars, or left on felt when distracted by women.

OK, I'm giving up women. Er, I mean craps.

Stopped by Aria on the way to McCarran last night. The self park was easy to find, well marked and easy to get into. Then the fun begins.

I have no clue what the idea behind this is, but by my estimation, 66.67% of the surface area of the parking garage at Aria is non-parking. For every parking spot, there's an adjacent spot that's striped off. There are whole rows along the length of the structure that are striped off. Insane. It took me 20 mins to find a spot.

The Aria casino is pretty nice, judging by the fact that I was up $200 on craps after 20 mins, which was just enough time to cash out and throw a hundo in a Sex And The City Machine, which netted zero. The bonus round on that is you get to "change the dress" on one of the sluts. So I always picked "I don't wanna be known as Mrs. Up-the-butt" (you know who I mean).

Please, no comments requested about the use of the word "slut", I'm only kidding. Women have needs...

Hit the airport, pick up friends, back to Palazzo, much drinking and crazy ass sex ensue.

I know this is a shitty live TR by BJ standards, but had to move rooms at Palazzo and the router was f'd, so I'm catching up.

Next - Darth Vader show up at the craps table. Yeah, you know what I mean...

It just occurred to me that I have 99 points at Wynn, should I go back over and get 100 to spin the wheel?

LOL-YES go spin the wheel--least you can get is $10.00 free play--but you will probably get the free buffet--I did last week and it was pretty good--so you really can't lose--
Hope you hit that big one

I gave up craps like I gave up women; more 6s & 8s, more up and down, more up than down, I got two superstitions when it comes to craps, I press Asian women and arab men. You figure it out.

Anyways just got back to the room totally on tilt from a bad boxman who called a seven on a die that was as diagonally perpendicular as perpendicular can get. Up a few hundred on the sesh, but, the house has the edge to begin with; I've NEVER complained in my whole life, but this was redic.

Table has a few hoodsies whooping it up, so the Troy Aikman-who-never-was boxman just shrugs at me, so I pick up my $2k and leave.

The drinking and sex is still fantastic so far...

OK, gonna skip over Darth Vader from Alabama, because the guy who owns some scrapyard company or something in China just showed up with a couple of buddies and took out a $50k marker...

Hey man, you are the king of the Live TR. :nworthy:

Hey, finally got through to United after 2 days - I have a $125 refund for my original flight to spread around on roulette - how would you suggest I do it?

OK man, will do it and report back tomorrow. Kim Kardashian is supposed to be at LAVO tonight. Personally, I don't think her ass is that big, but hopefully the gravitational pull of it will not affect the play.
