My wife and I are not fans of a hip hop and only so so on EDM. We are mostly Rock fans and we play together in a 60s and 70s band, so we like to see bands perform and not DJs spinning records.

I know the Carnival Court usually has live rock bands and we plan on going to the Raiding The Rock Vault show. Where else can we go to see a live rock band perform on the strip? (I know they have bands on Freemont).

Anything else fun to do for fans of Rock and Roll and guitar music?

Planet Ho has a band off and on, more off than on lately it seems, on the stage to the north end of the casino.

The new O'shea's had one back in April.

Paris has a live band most nights now, but it's mostly pop/funk and not guitar based 'banger stuff.

Not looking for headbanger music just rock music that is based on guitars and not synth beats. I like Funk, Raggae, Ska, Punk, Surf, Alternative, a little Disco. I am not into Hip Hop, EDM, Country, or most modern Heavy Metal.

FYI Raiding the Rock Vault is a AWESOME show! Mandalay Bay, Planet Hollywood,Diablo's Cantina, The Venetian, and Harrah's Carnival court offer live entertainment with a rock n roll flare! By far the lounge at the venetian had the best cover bad!

I remember staying at the Orleans a while back and they had a good band playing covers in the near the casino. Not sure if they are still there though but worth a look.

Mizyou Lounge in Mandalay Bay has a rock band every night, and their pretty good, plus the HOB is right across the casino floor, and they always have something good. I myself play in a band, so when i am in vegas im always looking for live entertainment. I think this is your best bet.

As long as I can find some live rock and roll and I don't need to be blown away. My wife and I play in rock band, so we like to go see other bands when we get a chance.

I see lots of good suggesting of places to check for some live music. I will be booking some seats for Raiding the Rock Vault at LVH on this trip too.

Now if I can just get over my fear of table games this should be a real fun trip.

Though it's not the strip, Fremont has had some good bands in the past for free (Deep Purple plays there in August). Also check some of the off-strip properties - The Cannery has some good shows for free or cheap - usually about $15 - $35.

Check out Monroy. This schedule is only through June so check back before you go. My wife and I had a lot of great times when his was the house band at La Scena in the Venetian (I was there for a conference). Looks like he is mostly splitting between Planet Hollywood and Downtown so hopefully you (and we, later) can catch him at P-Ho. http://petermonroybandblog.blogspot.com
