Dr. Whitejacket hit the nail on the head. Thanks for the explanation! I am on the antibiotic you named. I'm still not interested in that hangover you mentioned!

Have a fantastic trip. I was thinking your Dr had a mean sense of humour if he put you on antabuse right before a Vegas trip......definitely wouldn't chance a drink after reading about the side effects of the antibiotic. Sober is better!

Definitely don't drink on that medicine. You'll be so, so sorry. It doesn't hurt you. It just makes you wish you were dead.

    Day two

This morning began like many others...a breakfast at Encore's society cafe, then some digestive gambling. After breakfast, we goofed around on a variety of machines. My best wins came from the Beverly Hillbillies slot, which I only tried because I read evoni's trip report and she said they were fun. I hit quite a few bonuses, but gave most of it back.

Then I went to Venetian and played video baccarat. Understand, I just recently started learning about the game and have been practicing using an electronic version on my iPad. I thought the video one would be a nice middle step between the computer and the big table. Venetian is the only place I've seen such a thing. It's five dollars minimum a game, but you can divide that five how you wish in dollar increments. Basically, if I bet player, the banker won. If I bet banker, the player won. And there was never a tie in the whole history of hands. I only played a few hands and bailed because I was irritated. I was also drawing a crowd because I was explaining the basics to my friend as I was playing and others were listening. When I stopped, they all left. Nobody else was playing either. Something tells me this machine might not last. It's huge in size and takes up a lot of floor space.

We returned to Mirage and started playing in the casino here. My friend played blackjack and I did slots. Not any wins from either of us. We both tried the pawn stars slot...man, that thing was terrible. Everyone we watched playing it also never had any hits of substance. We decided it was time for a snack, but one dinner was at 7 so we are just going to grab something quick at Fashion Show Mall.

We make the trek from Mirage, through TI, and over to the mall. So much for that idea....the entire mall is closed for Easter! So we decide we will go across the street to Sugar and Ice. We get there, see the pizza and agree thats not a snack but a meal and decide to go to the new hot dog place at TI that replaced cantor's. It was pretty decent, but a ton of food. It was also a 25 dollar snack, but to be fair, we could have ordered half of what we did and had more than enough. Something interesting during all this walking is that wynn had their own Easter bunny that you could have your picture made with for free, and they gave you a print out of the picture. We politely declined but I thought it was an interesting gimmick by the casino. That was the most Easter I saw all day.

We played for a little bit at TI, lost it all and came back to the mirage for a siesta. That turned into a longer siesta than planned because we started watching walking dead (I had never seen it) and before we knew it it was 6pm, and we were supposed to be at MGM by 7. We tried to catch the bus, but the ticket machine was broken so we just walked all the way. Yes, my feet are killing me.

Dinner was at Diego. I have done happy hour here and I enjoyed it so I was looking forward to dinner. Sadly, it was just okay. It wasn't bad, but not great. No, I didn't get the table side guac because I would have to eat it alone, and it was a lot of guacamole! I had chicken enchiladas and my friend had steak tacos. We were still kind of full from the snack, so that didn't help matters. After dinner, the plan was to play lions share but a woman was camped out and had no intentions of moving. She was winning a good bit too. I plan on going tomorrow. If someone wins it tonight, I'll never forgive myself.

My tummy was kind of reeling from Mexican and my buddy really wanted o watch the season finale of walking dead (yes, he's a gigantic fan) so we decide to take the monorail to harrah's and get back to mirage. I wish we would've thought of this on our trip down. When we go to board, this very puzzled family of 8 is staring at the map on the platform. My friend asks them which hotel are they looking for, and hey tell him Mandalay Bay. They paid 40 bucks to be on the wrong monorail! We tell them they got on the wrong monorail and how to get to the right one. They decide to ride anyway, and I feel a little guilty that we didn't warn them they will have to buy a ticket to get back. Damn, 80 bucks just for a round trip! Reminds me how much of a resource vmb can be. I do try to help people when they look lost. I've gotten the "do you live here?" several times, lol.

We make it back with time to spare, watch the show and now I'm winding down. My friend went down to the casino to see if magic could happen when the sun goes down.

Tomorrow is pretty loose, schedule wise. We're going to do bacchanal buffet and tomorrow night check out downtown. I might try to go to the pool, depending on the crowds. Im sure there will be more adventures, but we have yet to plan them out. Those days are sometimes the best ones!

You still had more fun than I had being stuck on a plane for 6 hours. Plus the ride from Flusherville Regional Aerodrome...

I'm in San Jose to check out a new grommet releaser technique for the crafty South Koreans.

Glad to hear the hot dog joint in TI is pretty good....Was upset that Cantors closed and will be out there at TI and Mirage in the beginning of June so will definitely try...As someone who doesn't drink anymore, Vegas is still loads of fun sober and for some strange reason I can make much better gambling decisions today than in the past:)

They don't need to re-buy tickets, they just need to walk across the platform and board the southbound monorail.

Day three has come and gone, and was not kind with the gambling. In the morning, I got up early and went to play some video poker. That wasn't exciting me because I wasn't winning or losing, so I moved to slots where I could lose faster. Eventually my buddy wakes up and we try out the lord of the rings. Neither of us do much. It seems that all these new slots have much lower payouts than before for small hits. I didn't think you could win much less than 5 credits, but I routinely hit 3 on a lot of these newer slots. Barely worth it. I'm still not clear on the whole "log in" aspect of these games either. I'm not terribly motivated to figure it out because I won 3 stupid credits!

We hit up bacchanal at the breakfast/lunch switch. It was good, but I will say I remember it being better. I will also put an asterisk by this visit in that I've been sick, and that can change how things taste. We both overate by a lot but we couldn't say we left hungry.

We then decided to head up to MGM because I was going to play that damn lions share before I left town. Of course, I had to wait for some lady to lose her money, but eventually I'm in. My first $20 is gone in no time. The second 20, a little teaser, a lion shows up now and then. The third 20, I'm finally starting to win! As dreams of a Caribbean retirement play in my head, I snap back to reality when the machine starts to malfunction. Nooooo.....BlueSkadoo broke the Lions Share! Every time I hit the spin button, all the LED screens would flash a ton of random numbers, so you couldn't tell what the payouts were, what you were playing (number of credits) or what you have left in the machine. I kept hitting the button until it wouldn't let me (I'm thinking I lost 2 bucks on the deal) and then called an attendant. I said "I just want you to know this machine isn't acting right today. I'd hate for it to finally hit and be voided". The personality plus slot attendant grunted and I walked away.

We then hightailed it out of there, my buddy was up from blackjack and I broke a famous machine, and we headed out to the south end casinos with nothing of note happening other than walking forever. Oh, we did try out the new Godfather machine. It did not like us. My friend got the bonus once, hit a retrigger and still only cashed out 20 credits. For all the noise and commotion it caused, we thought he had hit it big. Next, we stop in at NYNY where bad things always seem to happen. My friend gives back everything he won at MGM, I just keep losing and we're both grumpy and ready to take a break.

Part 2... Cut me some slack, I'm typing this on an iPad!*

After our grumpy butts took a break, we had to decide what was for dinner. We originally picked binons ranch house. We tried to call and make a reservation. Try wouldn't answer the phone, so we said screw that, let's go to Circus Circus. *(I could hear my mom cheering from Alabama.)*

We grab the deuce outside of Harrah's and sit upstairs in the front. Little did we know we got on the daredevil's bus. The bus driver had quite the lead foot when we approached the big intersection at Venetian. So much so that we steamrolled through a solid red light. People literally jumped out of the crosswalks to avoid this bus. The entire front part of the bus was shrieking because it was obvious the bus was *in the wrong and it could have ended very badly. But the fun didn't end there.

*Right after that, we hear all this honking behind us, and eventually,..slowly rolling up to us. The cars were holding signs out that said "Respect Drivers" as they followed cabs around. They were honking, flipping people off and stopping in front of cabs to block their paths. The bus driver came on the PA and said "sorry guys, I have to pull over to respect the drivers..." everyone groans and then he says "April Fools! " The cars (about 6-8) were rolling down all of LV boulevard. Most of the people on the bus were just confused about these random civics and corollas honking down the strip. *

We got off the roller coaster bus at Circus Circus and had an enjoyable meal at the steakhouse. Splitting a steak is really the way to go, at least if you're dining with me. There's a 10 dollar split entree charge, but you get all your own sides. We got out for 70 bucks, a bargain in Vegas. *After dinner, We played moms machine with the coin droppers. Not a single hit, sorry mom!*

Then we went downtown. That's part 3! I have to pack now. More to coming! Same skadoo time, same skadoo channel.*

I think there are some cab companies that have drivers on strike and that must be what that was all about..the respect part..not the pedestrian near killing part.

Thanks for the live report. I'm enjoying it so far
