I stayed at the Linq last weekend. I like it because they keep drink tickets coming at the sports book. The rooms are small but nice, clean and modernized.

The check in IS TERRRRRRRRRIBLE. It was 2AM on Friday and the line was still pretty deep. I landed at 3:30 PM and didn't end up checking in until 11pm because I didn't want to fool with the line. It was still miserable at that hour but was getting tired of carrying my bag all day.

I LOVE the casino in the linq. It has a weird layout but it is very clean with high volume of drinks.

Yes, VIP Services just inside the main taxi drop off area. No line and we were checked in fast! Upgraded to a mini suite and didn't know til we walked into room. Very clean and plenty of room (bathroom is 1 at a time).

I've never stayed there and I've heard the check-in and elevators stink. BUT, you have to admit that Caesars took a dump and changed it into something enjoyable. Drink service is great, the place feels new and I always spend some time here when I come since I always stay at Harrahs. I would have never recommended the IP, but I think the Linq is great.

I really enjoyed the old O'Sheas too. I wish they would bring it back the way it was. I don't even like the new one.

The LinQ looks badass both outside and inside. I was very impressed......much better feel than Caesars where I stayed. Gonna give them a shot one of these trips.

Awesome - thanks for your post! I try to stay at every place in Vegas, and The Linq is my second stop in June after the Wynn. Didn't like the IP rooms (no thermostat- either too hot or too cold), but the remodeled rooms look decent and have decent reviews. Hope I get the mini suite upgrade! They only allowed a regular room while booking my tournament offer.

OK, so I'm going to be there soon. I'm trying to decide between self check-in or trying the $20 trick (never did it before). Would you recommend the self check-in then and avoid the hassle of checking in at the front desk? I'll probably get there around 4pm or so. Thanks!

I would do the self check in for sure. I guess their is a chance they have resolved their slow check in times but who knows. I was there about 3 weeks ago.

Was just there a few days ago. Checkin line stayed long. I would recommended the online check in and then just go at the appointed time. I did the online check in from my phone as I walked in.

Overall a decent room. It's clean and comfortable. It's not the bellagio or Cosmo but it's worth the money if you can get it cheap.

Wife and I were there first week in May. As others have said, check in is pretty bad. We had a comped Luxury King Strip view room for 4 nights, arrived on Tuesday around 11:30PM. There were 2 people working check in, we waited in line maybe 20 minutes. "Sorry, your room won't be available until tomorrow morning, but we are going to put you in something else tonight, but that room isn't quite ready yet either"...Ummm.."It's 11:30PM, when will it be ready?"..."should be about 45 mins or so"...."so does this mean we have to come back down tomorrow and stand in this line again to get the correct room?"..."yes, sorry". So we checked our bags and sat at the bar directly across from check in so we could watch the line, and play some video poker. Ninety minutes later, no line. "Hi, can we get into our room now?".............Painful look..."Ummm, I'm sorry, it's still not ready"..."sir, its 1AM, how can we have a reservation 2+ months in advance and you still not have a room for us at 1am?"... We went back and forth like this for a few more minutes, then he said, "tell you what, I'm going to put you into a Luxury King Strip View Suite, you'll love it". "Do we still have to change rooms tomorrow, I really care more about not having to do THIS again than the room itself"...."Nope, stay in this till you leave".....So, definitely a hassle checking in, but the eventual room was very nice, even it it took half the night getting it...a small kitchen, living room, full bath plus a half bath... Rooms/hallways are very nice... We didn't really care too much for the casino layout, as someone else said, it seemed to be split into too many small sections for us...takes a while to orient yourself....They have added shops and restaurants, and less casino floorspace. No issues with the elevators any of the time we were there... The pool was a bit of a disappointment, aside from the near body search going in, there are bed-sofa things around the full perimeter, making it sorta difficult getting in and out or hanging along the pool wall, and they take up a lot of the limited space.... All the employees / dealers were nice and friendly. Definitely miss the old O'Shea's.

Thanks guys for the suggestion to skip the in person check-in and do the self check-in. Looks like that's the way to go. Maybe I'll get a chance to try the $20 trick next year!

Also the elevators are over by the Purple Zebra just past the casino cage. If you walk behind the elevators their is a second bank of 2 elevators. For whatever reason people never go to the back side. Those elevators are much quicker from my experience. You'll see 10 or so people waiting in the front elevators and their might be 1 or 2 in the back elevators. Just a tip.

Yeah.. those 2 back elevators have been a secret for those in the know for a long time. Much better.
Look also, for the elevators closer to the front, near the check in counter..............even if your room is farther away.....these elevators
are less crowded and quicker than others.......even if you walk farther to your room. Once you get used to the layout..you can make
good use of the front elevators.

For self check in do you just go to the total rewards site and find the option to do so or is there an app???

Not to hijack, but I'll post my thoughts on the Linq in this thread instead of starting a new one.

I did the self check-in. But when I got there, the line for the regular check-in was about the same size as the self check-in. So not sure I really saved any time. BUT, as I passed the front desk during my six-night stay, there were times when the regular check-in line was EXTREMELY long. Guess I got there at the right time. I suppose I would recommend the self check-in if it's offered. And for goodness sake, check out on your phone or on the TV if you can. Check out is 11 and I went down there (after checking out on the TV) around 11:10 and my goodness, was that line loooooooong. Luckily, my bill was correct so I didn't need to talk to someone.

Thanks for the elevator tips. Every once in a while, there were a few people waiting for the "back" elevator, but usually it was just me alone or a couple people. Either way, a lot better than the front elevators. That was a crazy scene most times I passed it.

After a day or two, I left my room and tried to find my way to the other set of elevators...the ones close to the front desk. I was in District Three and it was quite the walk to the District One elevators but rarely would I pass anybody in the hallway and rarely was someone on the elevator with me. A much longer walk, but I didn't have to worry about slow people staring at their phones instead of walking or the group of people who thought it would be a good idea to stop in the middle of the aisle and have a conversation. So it was worth it to me, and I got some exercise too. Basically, if I was doing anything at the Linq or Strip, I took the District one elevators. If I were going down to, say, go to the back and catch the monorail, I'd take the back District 2/3 elevators.

    Thanks everybody for the tips!
