I'll be staying at the GN October 24th-28th. I read somewhere that this festival will bring something like an extra 30,000 people to the downtown area, is this correct? I am worried that all the casinos will be packed and raise all the minimums. I will have fun either way, but come to downtown to gamble, not to watch shows.

The festival is being held on the other side of Las Vegas Blvd to the Fremont Street Experience, so there won't be any stages/stalls under the canopy (other than the usual ones, of course).

It will be busy. There might be some crowd control stuff on Fremont East, but hopefully it shouldn't affect the area around the GN too much.

That being said, I am going to the festival and had a room booked at the GN, but changed it as I want to be able to get away from the crowds when I have seen the bands.

Honestly I think 30k I way underestimating the turn out. 1/3 might go 2/4, but I don't think they will go up , just because its a draw for younger crowd and most wont gamble as much as people think. I have been wrong before.

Here's Joe Downtown's article with a decent map of the "L" shape.

"The L-shaped layout of the two-day Life is Beautiful festival will stretch from Las Vegas Boulevard east to 10th Street and from Carson Avenue north to Mesquite Avenue."

I just read in the Las Vegas review journal today that they are expecting between 20,000-35,000 for the Life is Beautiful festival.

I am avoiding downtown until Mon. Oct. 28th. LOL

Although, staying under the canopy would be advised.

Have fun and win lots of cash.:)
