Robin Leach is reporting today that Liason at Bally's has closed (See below). While I have nothing against same sex couples, I just don't think Bally's was the appropriate spot for the club.

    Here is what Robin Said:

We have six Wicked Whispers & Racy Rumors this day!

The noble experiment of the first gay and lesbian nightclub in a Strip hotel, Liaison at Bally’s, shuttered its doors Wednesday night.

Here’s the official statement ahead of the public announcement: “After a great run, which saw major LGBTQ icons like Laverne Cox and Lance Bass celebrate at Liaison Nightclub, the lights have turned off as of Wednesday, Feb. 4.

“While the Drai’s family looks forward to supporting and staying very active in the LGBTQ community, the Liaison Nightclub space will soon be transitioning into an exciting new concept.”

Truth be told, a gay nightclub would definitely do better in a larger hotel like an MGM Grand with a huge, diverse occupancy nightly. Heck even a raunchy, young place like Cosmo. Bally's never made sense.

The only reason it made sense for Drais to put it there is that the temp after hours club was already in that location. Something like that would definitely do better elsewhere.
