Always looking for new LV experiences, the last few years I have made three trips a year. I usually do one "winter" trip. I have tried December, and it just didnt have the LV vibe. I tried Feb and caught a run of good weather, but there wasnt much going on.

Fast forward, I am typically COMP at CET, all but PH and Caesars. I checked the calendar and was suprised to see I can do Superbowl weekend for $150 at Flamingo!! Sounds like a deal to me. I have been to LV on Holiday weekends, but have heard Superbowl weekend is another level of packed and crazy??

What can I expect? Also, we were thinking of watching the game downtown somewhere, what are the hotspots and how early do we need to get there?

I've been there several times during Super Bowl. The place is packed, packed, packed! I have never been in Vegas on NYE, but I imagine it is the same.

I have been invited to the parties that they can't call 'Super Bowl', lol, but don't end up going. I would rather sit around playing VP while the game is on. Watched it at the Strat one year, last time the Bears were in it, and we got there hours early just to get a seat at the bar. Last year, when the Packers played, we watched it at the front bar (Gustav's?) at Paris. Got there about an hour before kickoff and didn't have a hard time at all finding four seats next to each other. so, I don't know, some places its packed and some places it's not. There are many people on here that will be better able to give you info on where to watch it downtown.

Have fun, its a crazy weekend! People wear the Jerseys of the team they are rooting for all weekend, and you either get drunken high fives or drunken boo's and hisses. All in good fun.

Busy weekend, but not as crazy as NYE. We did party at Aria right after they opened. It was a blast. If you can get an invite, plan on lots of food, booze, big screens, etc. Have done similar at Harrahs in Reno and Beau Rivage. Fun way to watch the game.

CHECK AIRFARES. If you can avoid flying out on Monday, it will help.

Was there in feb for Super Bowl weekend. It was a blast. Ended up watching the game at Mandalay Bay's sportsbook. I think the sportsbook is the way to go. The buzz and overal excitement in the room was so fun.
I would also recommend flying out on Tuesday if at all possible. Reason being if you like to partake in adult beverages like I do, then it's very easy to get very drunk that day. Started with bloody marys early and then beers while you saving your seat at the sportsbook. Before you know it your doing patron shots to celebrate your winning bets. And then it's all a blur. Not hat I did any of that myself.

yep it's crazy. you've gotta have a party to see the game if you really want to make it great. flight prices can be bad, so book early. everybody flies in friday and out monday. table mins are high and tables can be packed. this year CNY is the next weekend, so that will help make it not so bad. 2 years ago CNY was the same weekend as SB and that made it doubly insane.

I know that Superbowl is a huge event and everyone want's to party in Vegas on Supebowl weekend but....

For the real football lover, I think that the weekend with the regional playoffs (Jan. 12-13/2013) is just the best football experience possible. (Wildcard weekend ain't bad, either.)

We've really enjoyed NFL playoff weekends in Vegas for the past 10 years, or so, and highly recommend one of them as an ideal football weekend.

    CON:

    It's not the Superbowl.

    PRO:

    4 games in 2 days.

They're on every T.V. in Vegas.

In a typical year, most of the games are more competative and more entertaining than the Superbowl game.

At least one of the games will be among the best of the NFL season.

    Room prices low, accomodations abundant.

    Gaming limits normal.

    Not overcrowded anywhere in town.

Lounges & sports books have lots of specials on food/drink, etc. Some give prizes and the like.

This is entirely a matter of personal preference, but it's mine.

Another vote for playoff rounds over Super Bowl - more action = more fun.

Superbowl has all the parties though -- every hotel has one.

We sat at the House Of Blues in Mandalay Bay for last years Packers/Steelers tilt. Beer, hot wings, pretzels and we got a nice table facing the big screen. I would do it all over again- it was a blast. My brothers friend bet on the Packers to win, I think he had to go back the next day to cash his ticket, the lines were crazy

Looking forward to my second Superbowl weekend in Vegas.

Was there in February for Giants-Patriots. In the end, the game kind of sucked. It was a lot of nothing and then one big Eli play. :D

Would love to see my 49ers there this year, but the game is really just a small part of the weekend imo.

Based on my play, got Bally's for $110 total for the Thursday through Monday. Hoping to get a better place to watch the game. Last year I was at some "free" event at MGM. Wasn't that great with the $10 beer and no food.
