Wife and I are looking for a fun casual Asian/Thai dinner for Saturday night. Jasmine looked to fancy so I am kinda leaning to China Poblano or Lemongrass. Both look great and not to fancy. Which would you choose?? and if neither is there another place you would suggest?

Lemongrass would be my choice. China Poblano is a little too fusion-y for me.

Lemongrass so damn inconsistent it seems but still good.

Prob wont notice if you haven't been there before I like both places.

Poblano has quite a vast array of choices

It's just inconsistent for people from SD. :) I have eaten there at least a dozen times and have ordered all different types of cuisine there... Dim sum, Thai, pho and my friends and I have been pretty happy.

    Lemongrass for me too.
The only inconsistent to are theire spice levels. I always order a six and sometimes it's just right, sometimes some more would be nice but it also killed me a couple of times. Have been there about 20 times. Still my favourite casual restaurant.

Ha, same here, I usually get a 3, sometimes it's fine, sometimes it's slightly bland, and sometimes I feel like I've been set on fire.

Anyway, I definitely would pick Lemongrass. China Poblano is, as mentioned, a bit too confused, and I feel like it's riding the Jose Andres name a bit. I actually think that if anything it's not fusion-y enough; they just serve Mexican and Asian foods in the same restaurant, as opposed to making a real effort to combine the two cuisines. They're just trying to do too many different things. Lemongrass is consistently delicious, drinks and service are great, they're open until 2am, and it's a really nice space in a relatively quiet area.

I been to both Place multiple times. I will pick Lemongrass.

ChinaPoblano tacos are way over-priced and mediocre. Also their chines food is nothing special.

Lemongrass service can be inconsistent but food was always pretty good. Also better ambiance.

My opinion gets an extra point because I'm an Asian. Ha Ha Ha

I hate Aria and I would choose Lemongrass over ChinaPoblano.

Lemongrass food is still good. I had some issues with service. ( long wait for a table. Food taking a while to get to the table, but the food has been good. I've also been when I was seated right away and gotten my food very fast, so hit or miss on service but the food is good.

I will second Noodles at Bellagio. Noodle Asia at Venetian is pretty good too.

How do these places compare to the Talon room food?

The Talon menu is somewhat limited so some of these places might be better depending on what you are looking for. Noodles and Noodle Asia have a lot more soup dishes and dim sum.
