Going to Vegas in July for a week. It is looking like we are going to be taking a side trip up to Zion National park for the night and coming back the next day.

Do a lot of you do this. Pack up an overnight bag and leave the hotel for the night, coming back the next day? The room is comped for the night we will be gone, so I am not worried about paying for a room and not using it.

I just have nightmares about the staff having a party in our room while we are gone..:eek::beer::beer:

We once were staying at Harrah's for 8 nights (comped) and left to stay at the Stratosphere for one night we also had comped - it was no problem.

I'd think the hotel wouldn't really care as long as you don't underplay them for the whole of the trip. Besides, how do they know you didn't just meet your love of the night and have a passionate rendezvous elsewhere? ;)

It is Vegas! A whole lot of hotel rooms are empty between 10 PM and 6 AM.

Just put up do not disturb and go and don't worry about. People come and go all hours night and day should be no issue.

I've never done in Vegas but when I went to Spain for two weeks we had a timeshare type place in Malaga then would train up to different cities and find a cheap room.

Zion is really nice, and Mesquite is a nice little gambling town if you need a stop. Utah is beautiful.

What do you think happens in your room when you are out?

Ever wonder why they have the electronic key cards? It so they know how long you are in your room and so they know when you are out.

They rent your room to other people for day use to maximize profits.

Look at your stuff next time you come back. Ever wonder why it seems like things arent where you left them?

    just kidding
