We just spent 4 nights a South Point. Had a great room on an upper floor. Bathrooms are twice as large as the Flamingo's Go rooms. Shower was nice and tub drained properly. I thought we were in for a great 4 days. The first full day there I was up $1000 playing penny slots. I was on a U-Spin Slot and hit the bonus with 5 free spins. Got 5 multiplier and on the big wheel hit $100 x my 5 multiplier for $500. Alittle while later I was Playing Cleopatra II and got into a bonus round. Made another $500+ on that slot. I must say on both games I went up to max. bet to get the higher payout. We did VP and my wife plays VP exclusively. She was disappointed as they were not paying as well as last year. Less 4 OAK's for one thing. We only eat 2 meals a day there and had a late breakfast every morning at the Cornado Cafe. Get a great breakfast at a reasonable rate.
We then moved to the Flamingo for 3 nights. Machines were no better there but we has one break even day. You have to watch where you stay with all the construction going on with gutting Bill's Gambling Hall. They were also working on the new ferris wheel but no noise from that. We had a Go room and no coffee pot. I bribed a gal and got a pot for the room. Then I had to visit several floors to find a housrkeeper with coffee packets. Success there with a small tip.
We had flown non-stop on Allegiant Air. We were 1 1/2 hours late leaving our home airport. Mid-week we heard on a local Vegas new channel that the FAA had grounded all MD80 flights due to emergency exit slides not working and being re-certified on schedule. Last Tuesday a fully laded plane was on the ground in Vegas and the cockpit smoke alarm went off. The flight attendants had the emergency exits open and only 2 of the 4 slides deployed automatically. They manually activated the other two and everyone got off the plane fine. I was assured our flight home was going off as scheduled. We were delayed an hour as the tower put a ground stop due to high and gusty winds. We flew home on an Allegiant B757. More leg room and a good flight. Don't have alot more to say other than the machines were tight at both places. Allegiant is going through growing pains and surely needs to pay more attention to maintenance issues!

I enjoyed your report. South Point is my favorite casino. As a general rule my money goes a lot further there than any place on the strip. We all do have our good/bad slot days. We have had a GO room at the Flamingo a few times ourselves...sounds like you and your wife do Vegas the same way that my husband and I do.

Good info, I like the place but have never stayed there. Definitely on the radar for a future trip.
