I'm sure this has been asked tons but with the addition of resort fees and early/late check in fees, i don't know how people do this anymore.

so we're on a later flight leaving at 10pm. our check out time at the hotel is 11, assuming we can't get a later check out. Wondering the strip for 8 hours.. been there, done that, hated it.

Where's the best bet to book a room for a day where we can check in early, even for a fee? I don't care about a resort fee, i just want to ensure we can check in before 3pm and use the room for the day. ideas??

Not sure where you're staying but reserving an extra night is the obvious answer.
Other than that, cheapest room you can find.

Ellis island (Super 8). It's a short walk from center strip up Flamingo to Koval Ln.

We did the mid night flight out last trip and had to be out of the room by 1:00. I have been thinking the same as you. Finding a cheap room for that extra time to relax or grab a nap.We couldn't get one at the place we were at because it was all booked. Fight in town.

Worst case scenario I can think of is: 1. Check out at 11. 2 Get to new place by noonish. 3. Leave luggage at Bell Desk and go grab a lunch, have few drinks, gamble for an hour or so and go back for the 3:00 check in.

Splitting our trip between mlife comp and cosmo comp... the fee for the extra night at either place plus resort fee is almost $100. Seems silly just to have a room for 7 hours.
I found the days inn for 24.00 a night but check in still isnt until 3pm. Same with the super 8. Is there no hotel that will let you pay an early check in fee in advance?? Is the only way to risk it at check in and hope the let you in early? I hate these red eye flights.

You can prob get till 1 in your current hotel. Check out. Leave your bags at the bell desk. Get lunch. You can go see a movie at the theater by MGM if you don't want to be in a casino. The smaller dumpy hotels prob won't let you check in any earlier then 2. Plus you have to get to them. They ain't convenient.

I think all the Mlife hotels will allow you to check-in as early as 11 am for $30 I believe. But once you tack on the room rate, early check-in fee, and resort fee, it's a wash if you can just stay in the same room for $100.

Luxor early check in if you book it over the phone is $10 and its 11:00am. Of course as with any resort late "check out" is also based on if they can let you do it but I've never been told no.

The earliest I've checked in was 8:00am at MGM and they had the room available that early.

Excalibur let me check in at 7am a few weeks ago. We went on a spontaneous one day trip, drove all night, got into town at 7am then drove home at 9pm.

It was a Thursday morning so might not work on a weekend, but you just gotta ask them at the desk to help you out. I offered to pay for Wednesday night too but they didn't make me

Yeah, not underestimating $100 for the extra night but after all the hassle of taxi to new place, room fee, probable resort fee, probable early check in fee, seems like a much better option to just bite the bullet and tack on the extra night NOW, before the rate goes up.

You could also contact a casino host at your resort and see if they can work something out for you, maybe a very late checkout?

I'm facing the same situation on my September trip, not flying out til almost 8p. On the fly out day I just want to be OUT of there, but got a crazy good flight rate at that time.

I would not take a chance of going to a NEW hotel. You could easily not be able to get into your room until late in the afternoon, which somewhat defeats the purpose. You can pay for early checkin sometimes, but that assumes they have a room to give you.

I did not see where you are currently staying, and if you can get that room comped for one more day. That would be my suggestion.

Not sure if this is an option at all hotels but a year or two back I got a "half day" rate from Aria. I think I checked out at 6 or maybe 8pm - it was about $60-75

I know we checked out - gave the bags to bellhop, played a couple of games, had dinner and then left for the airport

I guess its an extended late check out- might be an option
