I generally travel to Vegas twice a year and stay and gamble on the strip. My last visit to downtown was about 10 years ago. I have a trip planned for early November and will be staying at Aria for four nights. I'm planning on going downtown one of the nights to explore a bit. Anything I should be aware of or should plan to see while I'm down there? I've heard a lot is changed. Thanks.

There are so many changes it's tough to know where to begin. The most significant difference is what's happened on the East end of Fremont Street - beyond the canopy. The nice thing about Downtown is it's still compact enough to easily walk. I'd just start on Main at The Plaza and head East and let the changes unfold before you. Do it at night so the Mantis at Container Park will perform for you.

I am definitely a strip girl, but wouldn't mind doing that this trip.

MIght want to move this post to the downtown forum. And while you're there.. browse some of those threads. Downtown is always changing. If you haven't been in 3 years its different. Lots going on and still the best part of Vegas (IMHO)

Actually you will be surprised on the changes in the last 10 years. You will see a big structure containing the zip line so people can fly over the fremont st canopy. You won't be able to see the Plaza very clearly since there is a big stage in front of Main St blocking your view of the Plaza. You will see lots of crazy looking "street performers" trying to get tips from you. You can also enjoy watching the paint guy making neat looking paintings, or get your fortune told by a fortune teller. You may even see a guy in a diaper or some women wearing only pasties, you may even see some topless "nuns" wearing pasties in the area. You will see a "party" atmosphere with the various casinos having a bar with dancing girls on the Fremont St. Experience. There are also a number of stages at many intersections so you can hear some bands. Many of the casinos have a "party" like atmosphere in their casino complete with scantily clad dancing girls and very loud music. You can even walk to the neonopolis and past to visit various clubs and bars in the area. And you will notice more "bums" or find panhandlers asking you for a handout.
