    Hi,

I'm starting a new thread to stop my hijack of the other thread I was asking off topic questions in.

What it boils down to is I have NEVER received any kind of offer via email or snail mail from MLIFE.

Regarding my play I answered these questions:

    Where do you play?
Mirage Primarily, a bit at Bellagio, some poker at Venetian (I don't expect anything from the V)

    What level are you at?
$25 pit games $10 Craps very little $0.25 and $1.00 VP

    What do you play?
Green chip Pai Gow, Pai Gow Poker, Black Jack. $10 Line Craps with $12 6 and 8 place bets which get pressed up (hopefully!)

    How much do you play?
A few hours of poker per day, probably 4 or 5 hours of table games per day.

What sort of offers have been offered to you?
Other than a free Superbowl weekend at Monte Carlo in 2005 (Which I'm sure was a feeler offer to try to develop me) I only get reduced room rates. And never via mail. I typically just call VIP services when booking a trip to see what kind of rate they can give me. Which I'm usually happy with the pricing.

Now, I know my play doesn't qualify for much, but it would sure be nice to get offered something once in a while. I have no desire to change how much I play or at what limit I play to earn comps. I typically take $2K to play and spend over a 3 day weekend once or twice a year. In the past 4 or so years I've always stayed at Mirage and do most of my gaming there.

I'm not really interested in opening a credit line and will likely never risk $20K per weekend.

Basically, how can I maximize offers. I know I probably will never get free rooms, but an occasional resort credit or free play offer would be nice.

I seem to read reports of people who I think play at the same level as me, getting all sorts of offers. Why is it I NEVER have received an offer in the mail of any sort?

Poster 4Eyes mentioned that at my level of play I ought to be seeing at least some minimal (free (weekdays) and discounted (weekend) rooms.) offers.

I am certain that I am always getting rated at table games. I am also certain that MLIFE has my correct email and snail mail address. Is there someone I can talk to (Host?) to inquire about why I receive no offers?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

$25 is the bare minimum bet at Mlife properties before they even start rating you.

    Minimum rating = minimum offers.

Try kicking it up another green chip or two.

As always: even if you don't get an offer from a property you are interested in you can always try phoning them (numbers are on the back of your MLife card) and see what they can offer you.

At $25 per hand, playing about 60 hands per hour for 4-5 hours per day at a game with a very low house edge, the numbers look like:

    25*60*4.5*.01= $67.50

Thats how much the casino expects to make off you per day.

If they return about 30% in comps back to you:

    $67.50*.3 = $20.25

Earning about $20 worth of comps a day isn't going to get you anything at places like Mirage or Bellagio... not to sound like a real jerk here, but if you consume 1-2 free drinks per hour while playing they are practically over-comping you already.

As far as getting offers go, you pretty much have a choice:

    A) To get offers from Bellagio or Mirage you are going to need to up your play, both playing more per hand and for longer (or you can play a lot more per hand for the same amount of time)

    B) You are going to have to play somewhere else. Luxor and Excalibur are the most likely but MGM Grand and NYNY are maybes.
And you will need to stay and play at those properties: Excalibur isn't going to give you comp rooms if you stay there and do all your play at Mirage - even though they are within the same family of resorts they still have their own bottom lines to think of.

    Augie,

You don't sound like a jerk at all.

    Thanks for the reply.

When you login to the MLife website and go to "Get Offers" what appears there?

I can't remember the last time I received snail mail from MLife. It is possible I checked a box to never send me anything. I continue to get the quarterly offers on their website though. I play much less than you do at MLife.

The offers haven't stopped coming from MGM since my first stay there just recently. You might not be betting enough to register with them. Try downtown

You are playing games with minimal house edge (BJ, Pai Gow), which limit your losses. A casino will only return a fraction of your losses (1/4-1/3). It sounds like you enjoy your stays at the Mirage, and the games and bet sizes you play during your trip. While a lot of people here post about their nice room and meal comps, they are putting a lot of money at risk and many times losing far more than anything they received via comps.

If what you mean by poker is live poker in the poker room, they will give you a couple $s an hour on play and a poker room rate if you commit to 4-6 hours per day (each hotel has different requirements).

You would have to bump up your play to get more than nominal comps or room discounts. Most Downtown Properties would give you full comp rooms +, and if you go to a different MILFe casino (Monte Carlo, Excalibur, Luxor, Circus Circus), you will get better offers. TI and LVH would also consider your play, and likely the Tropicana as well. CET casinos are looking for machine players or people willing to play at their poor table rules. Boyd's Gold Coast and The Orleans would also consider your play, as would other off-strip casinos.

All things considered, it sounds like you enjoy your Vegas stays at the Mirage. Stop at the MILFe booth or a hosts desk, and they will give you information as to what their property is looking for in terms of play for comps. You can also call the MILFe booth or ask for a VIP Rep while you are planning next trip. They will look up your account and give an honest assessment of your comp prospects. If you like another MILFe property, you can also call and they may extend an upfront offer (or comp on the back end) based on your play at The Mirage.

If you are mainly asking why you don't receive any notice of offers that actually exist, it's just a quirk of MLife. I never have anything but Tier Discounts show up online, I never get snail mail, and I've only gotten one or two emails over the last 4 years or so.

I asked once and was simply told "not everybody gets them".

There's some flag somewhere, or some combination of database attributes I have (god knows what), that prevents me from getting them via an MLife channel.

But they do exist, if I call, they see them.

That's not true anymore. You get rated for any play.

If you are playing black chip Pai Gow, you would likely get something at a mid-tier or lower-tier MGM property. Try Monte Carlo, NYNY, Luxor, or Excalibur. That is, if you are willing to stay at those properties.
