    My Trip Report

Ok, here goes my first trip report. A little background on my wife and I. Both my wife and I are 33 and love Las Vegas. Ever since we met, we have been to Vegas about 3-4 times a year, we even got married there. Over the last few years we have stayed for free or pretty much for free at mostly CET properties. Our goal is to stay at every casino on the strip and off stripe/downtown. For this trip we decided to stay at Imperial Palace because we have never stayed there and coming this December, we are already booked at Flamingo (plus it was one of two placed we could get comp'd on a Labor Day Weekend) . This would check off all CET properties in our goal to stay at every casino. We were very hesitant to stay at IP. Yes, we read all about it all over the internet but we love to play table games there, so we said what the heck! We booked a Luv Tub Room (10134) for four nights.

We left our house around 9pm on Thursday night. We drove up the 15 fwy from Los Angeles and made really good time. We only stopped once in Baker. We did have company on the drive. My wifes Uncle is from Mexico and was granted a month stay to see his mother who is 99 years old and is not doing good. It just so happens that his son, who he hasn't seen in over 20 years lives near downtown and he asked to bum a ride to and from. Oh well, it's family, can't say no.

Anyways, we drop him off around 2pm and we decide to take Las Vegas Blvd all the way through downtown and then eventually to the stripe. The area around downtown is very bad. Homeless people everywhere and hookers (guys and girls) at most bus stops. I don't think I will be driving through there at night again. We finally get to IP and because we got there so late, there is nobody in the check in line. AWESOME! The girl gives our keys and we make our way up to the 10th floor.

The room is surprisingly very clean and our only gripe would be the water pressure. We got a view of the Linq construction (no noise in the morning) and big room with the Luv Tub and flat screen TV. To make it even better, our room was a few doors down from the "hidden elevators" so we were able to by pass the crowded ones for the next few days.

Since we were finally settled in and very tired from working that day and driving for over four hours, the wife and I decided to have a drink in the room and call it a night.

    Day two...

OK, so we wake up around 9pm, shower and I make my self some jack and gingers and head down to the sportsbook to place some wagers on college football and baseball for that day. I am in there for about 30 minutes and decide to play the free slot tournament that starts at 11am. I play and do horribly, on the other hand, my wife plays after she meets me downstairs and does very well, but not good enough. We both miss the money.

My God parents moved to Vegas a few years ago and always want us to come visit, but we usually fly, so we haven't seen their new house. We told them we would meet them for lunch and swing by the house for a few minutes before we head back. We end up eating at California Pizza Kitchen at some shopping center on Las Vegas Blvd just south of Mandalay Bay. We say our goodbyes and head back to IP.

    FINALLY, my vacation starts!

We get back to the IP and decide to walk over to Harrahs and gamble a bit. I break even on Let It Ride and she hits for a few bucks on her favorite slot machine, $1 - 2 credit - Red White Blue Double Triple 7's. She has been playing this same machine at Harrahs for years. They move it every so often, but it is generally in the same spot (Right next to the Poker Room and bathrooms). Whatever Casino we go to, she knows exactly where on the floor are these machines. She constantly plays them at hits. I can't explain it. Anyways after our gambling, we head out to Carnival Court and stay for a few hours drinking and listening to Mr and Mrs Smith. They are a very good band and mostly play current stuff.

We have friends coming in and meet them at Margaritfaville for some beers and nachos. After that, we all head back to Harrahs and play Let It Ride again. I lose about $60 buy my wife and buddy both hit for over a $100.

My buddy and his pops go back to the Orleans and the wife and I go back to IP for more gambling and debauchery! We call it a night early around 12pm and wake up with mean hangovers!!!!!

    Day 3...

did it seem crowded to you?

You were there Thursday through Monday. What were your opinions on the crowds?

Actually the crowds were not to bad. Yes it was crowded but nothing like we expected. Granted, we moved from IP on Saturday afternoon to Orleans because IP was getting a little to uncomfortable. I'll explain more in my day 3 recap.
