    My Trip Report

    11:45 p.m. Friday, September 4: Wisconsin

I arrived home after a long day at work, with a 4-day weekend after convincing my boss to give me a comp day for way, way too many hours dealing with homicides and other issues.

My plan was to take a road trip, but the little demon in me said, "Check on Vegas rates." I checked the various travel sites and found a great deal on a Terrace 1 bedroom at Cosmopolitan and flight to Las Vegas. Wracked with exhaustion, common sense was gone. I was going to Las Vegas.

    8:30 p.m. Saturday, September 5: Las Vegas

Stupidly, I take a shuttle to Cosmo. It does same me money because everything is gridlock. Check in and, BOOM, downgraded to a City Room with the promise of an upgraded suite and $30 resort credit. Take the "deal" and head up.The City room is not as nice as a regular Aria room, but... Vegas.

Head out. The entire place is full of club kids. One memorable exchange behind me is a bunch of girls, with one saying, "Let's get some Adderall, then do shots!!!"

Personally, I had dinner at Planet Daillies, then walked up the strip, with special attention to Paris, where I really enjoyed the cover band at Le Cabaret.

    2:45 p.m. Sunday, September 6: Las Vegas

Finally upgraded to a perfect fountain view 1 bedroom terrace.

Lunch was secret pizza. Always good.

All I want to do is sit on the terrace and look. It's wonderful.

Head downtown for the Kansas and Blue Oyster Cult shows on Fremont. Fun times, but I lose my shirt gambling.

Eat at American Coney. good hot dog stand food. Wanted to stop a Pizza Rock, but they were closing before midnight and said they were out of food. Someone there needs to learn about the crucial importance of drunk food.

Kind of sad, but take pictures at the new Mannekin Pis at the D. Got retweeted by Mannedkin Pis and favorited by Derek Stevens.

    Monday, Sept. 7

Wake up late, but there is an early flight on Tuesday.

Lunch at Holsteins at Cosmopolitan. Burger is about perfect. Just big enough, but very tasty. Cooked well, but still pink inside. Later that afternoon, I had Shake shack. Holsteins bartender said it was very slow for Labor Day monday.

Went back to the terrace to enjoy the views of the Bellagio fountains and some drinks in my room

Got drunk, fell asleep, then woke up early to take a 6 a.m. flight home. Arrived safely without incident.

Heading back in October for VIMFP.

    Photos to follow.

Nice report, a quick decompress, then back to work. I must admit I had to Google Adderall.

I've never been downgraded at Cosmo before.....here's hoping it doesn't happen this time when I'm only there two nights. Looking forward to your photos.

Vegas trumps a road trip every time--unless the road trip is to Vegas! Enjoyed your report!
