So next Friday night will be my 50th birthday and, while we are starting the party the night before at the Cosmo and likely hitting up The Rhino for a little "naughty lady" entertainment on Friday evening, I was hoping I might top off my celebration with a little mediocre singing (if I can still form words at that point.) Any suggestions as to where to go? I know Ellis Island used to always have it but do they still and is it worth it? We don't really need a packed house as I'm sure my friends and I would be just fine singing to each other over a few cocktails. That being said, it might be fun to "wow" a crowd with our special brand of entertainment. I'm sure the ladies will swoon if I do my best work.

JR, one other option would be to hit Dino's near Stratosphere for Karaoke and you have the ability to walk over to OG for more interpretive dance.

You are correct about Ellis Island, UNLV is back in session so Karaoke will be jammed but the crowd could be good and the beer worth a trip. Also think about Hawaiian Marketplace on the Strip, it might have lighter crowds and was still doing Karaoke a few months ago.

Recently Crossroads at House of Blues (located at Mandalay Bay) has offered rock star karaoke (karaoke with backup musicians) every Friday night, but call HoB to confirm.

    Happy Birthday!

Agreed on Dino's... It's the place in LV for Karaoke. The immediate neighborhood isn't quite as seedy as it was 10+ years ago. Tons of the low-rent apartments have been bought and boarded-up or demolished. Still, don't dawdle (my Mom's word) around outside. A walk over to OG is a great idea too, just do it with purpose if it late at night.

Thanks for this info, I'll be visiting on the 26th of this month might stay longer if I do well at the tables/slots, but I love to sing some Creed and can tune my voice to match pretty much any other male singer. So I should have some fun with this, and who knows might get a free drink out of it if I get lucky.
The question I have though is how far is Dino's or Crossroads from Circus?

Dino's is on Las Vegas Blvd at Oakey or thereabouts... just north of The STRAT , so pretty close to CC...
    I wouldn't walk it though

Thanks for the info and the tip, depending on what I see, will probably depend if I decide to walk it, I've had to defend myself on a few past occasions if it's that kind of thing I need to worry about there.
