My wife and I usually spend the part of each day away from each other, which we find relaxing in itself. She has the freedom to do what she wants (usually shopping or the spa) and I can do what I want. However, one thing that I try to do a couple times a trip is have a nice leisurely lunch and read the paper with a nice glass or wine or cocktail. One of my go to places is having lunch at the bar at RM Seafood. Read the paper, shoot the shit with the bartender and just relax.

Vegas is quickly turning into a place for me and my wife to relax. No 2015 trip for us since we went on a cruise this summer, but we'll be back for our annual trip in 2016.

It's a stark contrast to earlier trips in my 20s. But, oddly enough, we have fun. Just walk around a little, lounge at the pool, no felt need to burn the candle at both ends.

I like to spend time relaxing in the room, especially on my solo trips. One of my favorite things to do is grab a bite from one of my favorite places and go up to my room and watch a football or hockey game. But only when I am staying in a nice place, which is why my home casino is Palazzo and the runner up Is Cosmo. Most of my trips run from 6 - 9 days, so it is important to take time to relax and recharge.

When I am Downtown, I spend much less time in the room, but I am usually only downtown for 2 or 3 days before I go to the Strip.

    100% yes

Earlier trips have been balls to the wall jam packed things complete with minimal sleep and putting myself through a Vegas style obstacle course. Those were fun but then I'd come home and feel like I needed a vacation because I just whipped my own ass for 4-5 days.

I still cut loose now but I have learned to tap the breaks and take a breath and soak in my time.

Last trip was mixed in with work and I forced myself to slow down. Other times I've spent time eating room service in a robe watching a baseball game.

Could I stand at a craps table for 12 hours? Sure. But I want to be able to walk the strip and drink a beer and people watch or sit on a ledge and watch the city. Other times I want to go take a damn nap at 2pm just because I'm on vacation.

Sports book solitude is another favorite thing too.

More and more I spend time relaxing and I do three or four night trips. I will spend all morning watching local news. It not unusual for me to be in the room for my favorite primetime shows. And I usually knock off a couple books on my Kindle. I am starting to just drive around more now too. Usually right before a trip I will burn my candle at both ends so it's important to get some rest no matter where I am on vacation.

Relaxing at the pool in the mornings....then it gets too hot.

Nap and a shower, read and post on VMB... in the afternoons.

Dinner and gamble... during the night time.

My new found appreciation of Vegas!!!!
