    My Trip Report

    Greetings all!

First time posting/first time visiting in Vegas. I'm in my mid-20's. I am born and raised in NC. Have travelled across the east coast, but never travelled west of NC. I had been wanting to go to vegas since the end of last year where a friend was having her 21st bday party there, but i didn't have the money (christmas shopping). Decided to team up with my sister (who always goes everywhere), and we went to vegas june 18-21st.

It was 5 1/2 months ago, so i can't remember everything in chronological order, but i'll try my best. So here it goes:

June 18th-i went to sleep really late the night before. The NBA finals had just ended, and i spent all night watching coverage. I went to sleep at 2am, had to wake up at 4am for a 6am flight. I couldn't go to sleep on the plane, bc i'm one of those people when i'm up, i'm up. When they asked for my id for bag check-in, i was scared stiff bc it wasn't in the normal spot in my wallet that i normally leave it, and i had no time to go home to get it. Luckily, i forgot it had just slid out in my pocket. Needless to say, i have a new wallet.

So when i get to the airport in vegas, i was the 1st of 4 people to arrive (my sister, who lives in nashville, and a girl we grew up with and her boyfriend were coming from my city). They all arrived within 20mins. 1st impression of vegas was, "wow, there's ads everywhere." It seemed like it took forever to get to my hotel bc my bus driver took 1million stops before we finally got to ours, but we were all in good spirits, laughing and joking all the way.

We finally arrive to the Caesar's Palace. Was just walking around for a few minutes just to see what was where. We tried to check in, but we were about 2hrs early for that, so we get them to hold our bags while we enjoy vegas. No more than 5mins within walking in the casino, guess who i see standing at the front door......................Randy Couture. If you knew me, you'd know how BIG of Couture fan i am. I noticed him from 50ft away, in a dim area, while he was wearing shades. He heard how loud my gasp was when i noticed him, and he saw me. So i goes up to him, and i say, "Did you know you're Randy Couture?" He started laughing and look around and he said, "who me?" I talk to him for about 2 or 3mins, and i get a picture with him and wished him an early bday (his bday was 4 or 5 days later). And i never received the picture bc my friend's boyfriend to it, and his camera got destroyed. That alone made my trip. So after that, we walk around for a little while, enjoying the hotel and its features, and we end up eating at the cheesecake factory. We had good meals. We were all tired, and it was finally check-in time. So we get a Roman room, which btw, NEVER SHARE A ROMAN ROOM WITH 3 OTHER PEOPLE!!!

On to the room. So as soon as we get up to the room, we all go to sleep bc we were dead tired and we wanted to semi-adjust to the time zone change. I actually loved our view bc apart of the view was the roof, which of course reminded me of The Hangover. So after we wake up, we all get dressed and ready to vacat. I remember us going around Caesar's and playing slots for a little while. I think i won around $25. Then we all got hungry again, so we walk the streets of the strip. We went inside a few hotels, not finding anything appealing and/or open. We went to Margaritaville. We sat down for like 20mins, and no server came up to our table, so we left. We eventually went to this restaurant (forgot the name) in Flamingo's where they were serving $8.99 ribeye's. There was this crying baby, literally cried the entire time we were there, 2 tables over. And this was at midnight, why do people have there infants out that late? The food was surprisingly not that bad. I work at an Outback Steakhouse, so i was critical about the quality of a $9 steak. After that, we go around casino hopping for a few hours. My friend and her bf got tired, so they went back to the room. Me and my sister weren't that tired, so we walk over to the Bellagio. It was pretty dead in their, but it was 4am at that point. We hit the slots for a while, then headed back across the street to go to bed.

June 19th-I woke up before everyone. I didn't want to just sit around waiting for them to wake up, so i put on some clothes and started walking around. I was on the phone with my best friend, who had his honeymoon in Vegas in January, and he told me to stop in to MGM to see how big it is. That was a long mellonfarmer of a walk. And it's morning, so the casino was pretty dead. I walked around for a little bit, and this woman walks by me and says "hey" to get my attention, and then she flashes me. I laughed and said wow, which made them laugh. By time i got back to the hotel, everybody had already woke up. We had went to Imperial Palace bc we saw an ad about them having crab legs in there buffet, which btw they didn't have it until 2pm, we went at 12:30. There buffet was arguably the worse food i've ever ate. I accidentally said it in front of the server, and he didn't seemed surprised by that.

I should note that i made it a purpose not to spend a lot of money on food. I knew Vegas was going to be pricy, so food experience was the least of my worries.

So we go back to Caesar's for a while and hit the slots some more. That kept up busy for a couple hours. Then we all went to change in better clothes and head off to club Pure. When went down there, it seemed like they had 3 different lines to get in. And when we got in a line, they'd tell us to go to the other. The best part of the Pure experience was we only had to wait in line 10mins. When we get inside, it is crowded. We went to there hiphop room, and we danced a little there. Then we walked up to the balcony, and it was extra crowded up there. I mean, you couldn't even move it was crowded. There were spilled drinks everywhere, overall bad experience, so we left. Can't remember what we did after that. I do remember at some point when we were walking up to the room, there was this MASSIVE group of asian women walking around our hallway with a giant inflatable penis. They were pulling a prank on their boyfriends. It was quite entertaining.

June 20th- This was more my level. We all woke up pretty much at the same time. We decided to eat breakfast at the buffet in Caesar's. I bought the all-day pass for about $45. It was pretty good. Right after that, we decide to go to the pool. There were no seats available, so me and my sister left. Me and her had talked about going to UFC's Ultimate Fighter finale at the Palms, but she was hesistant to spend the money bc she didn't realize the hotel took a $200 deposit from her account. So i spot her if she promised to pay me back a week later. We go to the Conceirge desk to try to get tickets from them, and they said the cheapest tickets available were $315. I had looked them up right before i left to vegas, and they were $200. So i called the box office at the Palms, and sure enough, the tickets were $200. So after i bought them, we had like 1hr to get there before the preliminary fights started. So we dash upstairs to change, and get a cab there. As we were waiting in line, one of the guys from the show was outside talking to fans. He had a smoking hot girl with him. We also saw the family of one of the finalist from the show. For the UFC fans, this was the past season with Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz. So when we go in, we get our seats. The arena in Palms is not that big, so there was really no bad seat in the house. We see Chuck Liddell, and his taking pictures with everyone in his area. The usher wouldn't allow me or my sister to go down there. It was an awesome fight card. Most of the fights were either knockouts or submissions. After it was over, we caught a few more of the guys from the show. My sister took pictures with them, i wasn't fans of their's, so i didn't care. So as soon as we go back to Caesar's, we try to hit up the buffet again. There was a massive line to get in. It was 9pm, and the buffet closed at 10. The line wasn't moving, and the clock kept ticking. Eventually one of the employees said the people at my part of the line probably weren't getting in. So we left. The girls sent us guys off to get food while they waited in the room. We walked all the way to the food court close to MGM, i got subway and wendy's, and everyone else got pizza. And by time we walk back and get up to the room, the girls fell asleep. We were both mad, so we were yelling try to wake them up b/c there was no microwave anywhere and once the food's cold, it's cold. They never woke up.

I'm going to finish the last 2 days later. I need a break

    Good job so far! Thanks!

Bummer on not getting service at your table, but as a weekend waitress I can tell you it happens - often servers switch sections, etc., and a table gets missed. If you get someones attention & make them aware, normally you will be taken care of immediately.

June 20th- Once again, I'm the first person awake, so I put on some clothes and leave. I start to make my way south of the strip, and wind up at Mirage. I hit the wheel of fortune slot until my $20 is gone. One of the servers came by and got me an Orange juice. After I leave, I get back to my room and everybody's awake. My friend said she and her bf reserved chairs at the pool, so we went down. When we get there we notice someone's in one of our chairs. My sister didn't want to sit in the heat, so she left. The rest of us were there for about 2hrs. We sat next to a family from Texas. He was giving us Vegas pointers and free corona's. Their pool gets really warm within 10mins, and you dry off within 5mins of getting out without a towel bc it's so hot.
After I leave the pool, I go back upstairs to get clothes to get lunch. My sister was rambling about something holding me up, then finally I leave. When I was on my way to get a $1.99 footlong, who dashes by me near the elevators.......Rashad Evans. For those who don't know him, he's the #1 contender for a ufc championship titles. So i stop him to get a picture. I felt bad bc he seemed to be in a rush, and he was patient with me bc I was fumbling with my camera phone. After I took the picture, he shook my hand and said nice to meet you.
After I get my dog, I went into outback to swipe a menu for my manager. We hear all the time how the outback near harrah's is the highest outback in the world in sales. So I go in there, steal a menu, look around, and literally run off laughing. Then I go back to the room where everybody's waiting about to go to the pawn shop from the hit show Pawn Stars. When we get there, it is packed. I had never heard of the show, so I didn't think it was that popular. No one from the show was there. Everything there was insanely expensive. My sister loves that show, I now watch it every mow and then. So we leave there, change in better clothes and go to O'Sheas. We get there and I hit the $5 blackjack tables. I was winning and losing for 4hrs. I noticed the lower amount of people at the table, the more I won. Towards the end, I started getting greedy and loss $300. I was so upset, I went back to my room and fell asleep.

June 21st- We all wake up about the same time. We start packing up. After we go down and drop our stuff off to bell service, we go back to the pawn shop bc they told us the guys from the show would be there. It was crowded again. The owner of the show came out for 2mins and hurried in the back bc they were about to start filming. We were about to leave until the security guard said chum lee was coming out for pictures. My sister got a pic with him. We go back and ate in Caesars, then we went to the airport. When I go to check in, they said i missed my flight. Turns out my sister booked me to depart on the wrong day, and they charged me an additional $225. I was LIVID. And to top it off, my flight was delayed by 1 and a half hours.

So that was my trip. There was a whole lot more good than bad. The worse part besides the flight was 4 people sharing 1 bathroom. I am planning another trip for Easter week next April. I plan on doing more and different things when I'm there.

In fairness to her it was partially my fault. I got the flight a month before the trip. I should've caught that. But I ended up paying $775 for the ticket. She originally booked my flight bc she say that she had a free flight owed to her by southwest, and we were going to split mine in half, but for some reason, they didn't let her use the free flight on this trip.

My sister had a rewards membership with southwest. And like I said, she was going to split the cost of my ticket. She was on the phone with southwest, and she bought mine bc she didn't want to keep waiting for the price to go up.

For Christmas, we're buying each other's flights. Mine is about $100 more than hers, so it balances out.

Given your sister's track record, you sure it's a good idea to let her book your flight? lol
