By removing the quarter chips, it seems no longer worth it to make the drive to Henderson. Craps is still $1 minimum, but without the quarter chips, proper payouts are less possible. It's now only worth it to play the pass/don't pass with odds.

I stopped by on a mid-day afternoon last week, and the table was mostly empty.

    That Stinks

That stinks really defeats the purpose, did they least have $0.50 pieces? Can you explain the payouts I guess for instance if you can place the 6 or 8 for $1.50 would they pay $1.75 before? That stinks.

To me they effectively made it a $3 min table or at least $2 min table.

Does anyone know if any of the $3 min tables around table pay $0.50. For instance the $3 Fremont table on Fremont?

No 50c chips either. Previously, if you placed the 6 for $1.50, it paid out $1.75 (one white, and 3 yellow chips). Now if you place the 6 for $3, it pays... $3. One of the dealers told me that dealers kept leaving their jobs due to the confusion with the 25c chips. I call BS, because I know Joker's Wild was once where first time dealers cut their teeth, and learned how to deal craps. You really had to keep an eye on your bets, because they would make mistakes, but I guess that was the best way to teach dealers, with very little money.

Now the only reason to play is if you are a come/don't come bettor, as you can keep spreading the table with $1 come bets, with odds. It's not a bad game, just no longer worth making the special trip. It was bad enough when the Eldorado removed their craps tables altogether. I wouldn't be surprised if Joker's Wild isn't far behind. :(

I think they're probably going to demolish that place soon. I think there is a new casino going up across the street....

The $3 Fremont table had $0.50 chips last time I was there. That was two years ago.

I've played the Joker many times. That same table was formerly at the El Dorado in Henderson on Water Street. I can say I saw tons of green chips on that table and there were some serious winners.

I've chipped away on those quarter tokes, and it gets boring fast. Why call it gambling if you don't care if you lose?

Just be glad it's still a dollar table. Even with an incorrect odds payoff. You can always raise your bet on the pass line after the first roll to meet the full odds applicable to that number. A buck on 4 or 10 pays 2 to 1, 5 and 9 you'll have to press it to $3 on the line, and the 6 or eight $5 to get correct odds. (6 to 5). Then there's always the place bets as well, and the hard ways for those who dare.

    ;)

I always call it Hendertucky too.....LOL

In all seriousness tho. I'm just glad there is still a dollar table out there. With the strip being what it is and the downtown area trying to become more strip like it's nice that there is still a place you can roll the bones for a little pocket money.
