That makes me happy, but the rest of the story makes me sad. I'm a kid of the 70's in the Bay Area and those John Asquaga commercials in the 70's and 80's were great. Then we'd go to Reno and there he was in the casino, just like on TV. :)

I haven't been there in ages (1992?), but it was in serious need of some cash to do some upgrades on the place. I hope the new owners do a good job with it.

He's still there daily, at least I assume so, because I have lunch in Rosey's Café once a month on different days and he always walks through sayin' Hello to everyone, so I'm assuming He's there a lot!

Hoping they don't change too much about the place but there are a lot of areas that need refreshment and renovation. Always love having a drink in front of the giant aquarium at Trader Dick's.

Yup, just woke up to see that eMail...
We're there every weekend (and have been for the past 6 years) so I knew it was coming.
Personally, I think John Sr is sick (haven't seen him around there in a few months).
But it's really good news because I've told upper management for a LONG time (including Steve himself) that it needed this and that...and the funny thing is, Carlton Greer basically was head honcho at Peppermill (which is the most "happening" joint in town)
Good thing I knew it was coming, as I've quit playing there and am just burning out my comps/offers now...
