It's our 10th anniversary, I have reserved Jean-Georges for 7:30 tomorrow night as we are staying at the Aria and recommended by the concierge. I have read some incredibly mixed reviews though and was hoping to have clarification. Some have loved it, others hate it calling it over-priced, I have even read that it was lower quality steak than Outback(!?) by one reviewer. It's quite the accusation, but wanted to see if there was any truth. I also read multiple times that the meal lasted a lot longer than it should have (2+ hours). If anyone could provide insight I would appreciate it. I know so many people prefer to complain than praise (esp online reviews) so I'm hoping to have a great meal. Please let me know if I should consider changing my reservation.

Also, I'm wondering about attire. I don't like to pack heavy and really don't want to bring a sport coat. Am I going to be looked down upon wearing (nice) jeans and an oxford shirt?

    Thanks for your input!

Read evoni's new (a few days ago) trip report on the Aria slot tournament. She and her husband ate at Jean Georges for dinner. She's got some fabulous pictures of the food (nobody does food porn like evoni) and a review of the restaurant about 1/3 of the way down. I think you will be pleased with your restaurant choice and your attire will be fine.

Uhh, we went there a couple weeks ago on my last trip and was underwhelmed. I would tend to agree with the other reviews. Other steakhouses like his Prime, and Mastro's at the Crystals mall are much better, imo. It was good, but not great. Also, we went prime time on a Friday night, and it was only about 1/3rd full, which might be a good indicator.

I went on Christmas in 2011. I remember it being good (but I don't remember much about it.. didn't stand out to me). I also remember it being outrageously expensive though. Like, for what we spent, we didn't end up with much food? If that makes sense. But every top tier steak house is overpriced in Vegas.

I've had steaks nearly everywhere. So far for me Stripsteak and Delmonicos have been my favorites. I'm very excited to try Gordon Ramsay in December!
