    My Trip Report

I get in late tonight. Staying at MGM Grand.

I am going with an old friend from college. We were close back then (30+ years), but we had been out of contact for the last 20 years until Thanksgiving when she was visiting town. Been chatting/texting daily since then. Crazy that we have now agreed to meet in Vegas for the weekend! This should be interesting, as we have left much unsaid.

Assuming things go well for me, I doubt I will have time for many live updates. I will do my best to post a few pictures along they way if possible. Otherwise, I will do a post trip report to fill in the details.

    • Spa appointment for her Saturday mid day
    • "O" @ Bellagio Saturday night
    • Late dinner at Bellagio after show
    • Sunday Super Bowl party in Grand Arena
    • Head home Monday

That's all for now. I will get in at least one brief live update late tonight (we do not even land until after 10:00)

Have a great time! If you are able to squeeze in enough time to hit the tables, I hope you get one of those epic runs!

Won at the tables. Romance was fair at best. Still a good time. On plane at gate about to head home. Recap tonight or tomorrow.

I remind you that romance and sex may have nothing to do with each other.
    I think that's a "fair" statement, no?

    Nice pics!

I really like the look of that room and quite honestly it looks like enough to make me give MGM a shot.

Sorry I do not have the pictures that normally go along with my reports - hope this is not too much of a wall of text...

    So here are the basics:

Arrived late Friday night and checked in with no wait, no hassle. I enjoyed the room - Penthouse City View Suite. I really wish you could judge the size of that tub - it just does not come through in the picture. I kid you not, 6 people could get in that thing!!! After some arrival drinks in the room, we headed down to gamble. The woman I was with (I'll call her "A") loves [STRIKE]BJ[/STRIKE] blackjack, but plays low limit. Unfortunately, there was not a table in the entire casino less than $25. She was fine hanging out with me at a high limit table and not playing, so we scoped out the Mansion and Whiskey Down and decided the latter was much more fun and lively.

I started with a $5K marker, and had an amazing first shoe; if I had been warmed up and pressing my bet hard, I would have won really big. One on One with dealer starting with 2 hands @ $200 each. I started tracking from the first hand, because I was increasing my bet every time I won both hands, but only going back to $200 base if I lost both hands. I won both hands on the first deal, and upped to 2 hands @ $300 each. I NEVER RETURNED TO BASE BET THAT SHOE! I would lose one and win one... occasionally lose one and push one... lose my double but win the other hand... and of course, I would win both some of the time - but NEVER LOST BOTH. I only pressed until I was at 2 hands @ $500/hand and stopped there because... well, not sure - I was just too cold, or maybe not enough liquid courage in me yet. None the less, an amazing first shoe turning $5K into almost $14K in about 16 minutes. Paid off the initial $5K marker right away, and never looked back - I could have gone on this trip with a gambling budget of $400, the amount of my first bet of the trip!!!!

I played til a little before 4:00 AM. The rest of the night was good, but could never get it going. I tried a few times when on a run going to $1000/hand ($2K total bet per deal), but seemed to lose almost every time I tried. I was up well over $20K at one point during the night, and called it when I fell back to up $15K. Great first session of the trip!

Slept late, simple brunch at Avenue Grill, and then A and I sat together in Whiskey Down for an hour while I played blackjack. Don't remember much about the session, but I know I did not lose. A then went to the Spa for a Hot Stone Zen massage (or something like that) - she said it was awesome. I wasted time for a bit, then back to Whiskey Down for more BJ. I played for a while and A eventually joined me again after her Spa. I played until we had to head up to the room and get ready for evening activities. About 3 hours of play... up another $6K for trip total of +$21K.

We took a Limo over to Bellagio around 6:45. We walked through the Chinese New Years display in the conservatory, and then made it over to the theater for the 7:30 "O" show. Great seats - mid way up of center section on the aisle. We ended up with one of the pre-show clown skits literally at our side. A got a bit of water thrown at her by the clown. It was really fun. And the show itself was also great.

Dinner at Sensi was just ok at best. No need to dwell on it...

Back to MGM. Once again decided on Whiskey Down. Honestly, there was just no appeal in the Mansion this trip. Lots of reserved tables, and not even sure if there were any tables with less than $1,000 limit. I did not play a hand there this trip as opposed to my normal 80% plus time in Mansion. Go figure??

By 2:00AM, I was up yet another $7K. Lots of fun - full table (but still room for A to sit because I was playing two hands). Everyone winning. Lots of high fives and fist bumps - although everyone was cracking up because we were all drunk and VERY bad at our fist bumps and high fives - missing about half the time. But again, fun, social, winning table. These are the most fun times at the tables. A went to bed at 2:00, but I decided to play a little longer. Within 30 minutes of her leaving, I gave back my $7K. A appears to be my good luck charm at the tables.

    End of Saturday night: +$21K

Sorry I missed you guys! I was pretty focused this trip on other things, but really hope we will find a time to hit the BJ tables one of these trips. Back in 4 weeks...

    Sunday...

Slept late again. Walked over to NYNY. Played craps at a $25 table. I am not much of a craps player, but had fun. Just 30 minutes or so, and won about $400. We wandered, had a slice of pizza, then back to MGM for the Arena Super Bowl party.

The party was really cool. Massive curtains hung from the ceiling so you could not see the seats/stands at all. The TV screen was MASSIVE. Impressive buffets that seemed to go on forever, bars everywhere and table service - so never a wait for a drink. They were handing out all kinds of trinkets, and small gift bag with hat and shirts. They did a good job.

We did not care who won (We wanted a Broncos vs Packers Super Bowl), so we made a whole bunch of prop and regular bets - just tons of silly stuff to keep our interest throughout the game even if it wasn't a great game. We did not do very well with our bets, but we had a great game - so all good. We were making $10 and $20 bets - it's not like we lost a lot... and we did have three small winners.

For the rest of the night we would play BJ for a while in Whiskey Down, and then go hang at the bar and drink for a while while and play 25 cent video poker. Final 2 hours were all blackjack. As with almost every session this trip, never down... just steady up. Final few shoes were hot and called it quits when I hit +$30K for trip.

Monday morning slept in... 1:00 PM limo to airport.
