So I opened one of the thousands of TR/CET emails I get like 6 times a day and for like the 1st time in years there's a free room offer. (double-take) What?!

2 free nights at FlamingO, weekdays, only certain dates, but STILL. I'm SHOCKED. I have been looking at booking my next Vegas trip, and this is a welcome addition as I hadn't gotten any new "totally" free offers yet.

So as I get into the booking process, I find a RESORT FEE of $18/night. This from the company that not so long ago was TRUMPETING their resort-fee-free policy. After a phone call I am told higher card levels get the resort fee waived, but not us Gold-i-locks.

After some internal hemming & hawing I go ahead & book it. The only Strip properties I have stayed in recently (like in the last 20 years) have been Riviera, Sahara, & Casino Royale. And the fact that a GO room was one of the options helped convince me this was a good option. So OK, I am staying ON THE STRIP for 2 nights. (sellout!) Not. LOL!

In fact, I truly cannot remember the last time I stayed in a hotel on center Strip - It may have been the TraveLodge back in the early 80's. (It's not there now, dummies, look it up online, heh.)

ANYWAYS, so this resort fee says it includes in-room internet, "fitness center" spa admission & local calls.

Checking the website, it sounds like the fitness center may include the steam/sauna/whirlpool area. Can anyone confirm this access for resort fee only? The reason I ask is I have the ACG coupon for free spa admission for a day, and don't want to use it unnecessarily.

As for in-room internet, is it wired only? I would have to assume so so as it doesn't say WiFi. I have 2 phones (one doesn't work as a phone anymore, but WiFi is ok). Can I rig a WiFi connection somehow? (Might be a different forum question, sorry.)

I will have a rental car - what is the best way to get in to park? I'll valet if that's best. With the Bill's/Barbaric Coast construction & Strip/pedestrian traffic how can I avoid the worst of it? Koval is very familiar to me.

I have played low-EV VP at Garden bar in the past, good service at least. Is there any decent $.25 VP? Does anyone remember if Sin City bar has VP? I would like to "give back" a few bucks for the free nights without going broke.

Thanks in advance for your FlamingO-ish experienced answers my friends. Feel free to answer any or all. Suggestions are also welcome. Flames from downtown/off-Strip snobs will be tolerated, heh.

    Have fun & good luck!

Hubby stayed at the Paris last year and he had wifi in the room. Since its a CET property too I would assume you will get wifi at the Flamingo too. If I remember correctly, on his comp he wasn't charged the RF...just ask at check in.

I think you just get fitness center access, not spa access. (I know like at MGM properties they have a "cardio room" that's what you get access too, it's not in the spa at all.) Not 100% sure they have wifi... but I think so. Says one device can connect... Google isn't telling me anywhere they don't have wifi.

They have a parking garage, but it's kinda small for the amount of rooms they have (and definitely the dirtiest garage on the planet lol), if it's a really busy weekend, there might be no parking. If there is parking it's easy enough to park, you shouldn't need to valet, it's not far from the entrance. You can still enter in the back there as far as I know... they don't have a front entrance anyways.

Look into Connectify or the TP-LINK Travel Router to get wireless access if the hotel only offers wired.

The first mistake you made was looking at "offers" instead of the rate calender. Unless of course you don't have a TR card? But if you are getting thousands of e-mails i imagine you do. The rate calender is only what i use. I got comped at Rio and Caesars so far this year and in Nov. i'm comped at Bally's.
If you look at the RC, i'm sure you will see free rooms at Flamingo Sun-Fri. I also have a Gold card, and as long as you show some loyalty to CET properties, you will be rewarded.
The TraveLodge Center Strip is still there, next to Harley Davidson.
The resort fees include only the Fitness Center. The Internet access if for one device only. Phone is included in the fee.
What i would do is use Valet when you are at Flamingo. That way you can walk throughout the Strip. Then use the car to drive to off-strip, downtown, etc.
The most wonderful thing about Flamingo is the Margaritaville Casino. Can't wait to go back in Nov.
Good luck and and don't forget to have fun.

From your Subject line I thought you were talking about Jason Voorhees
from Friday the 13th out on the Strip as a street performer / character!
A little person dressed as "Chucky" stabbed me in the stomach with a
rubber knife on Hollywood Blvd in 2006! Haha! Those people are Cray Cray!

Damn you must visit Vegas or CET properties on a regular basis, I have stayed at Ballys 6 times in 2.5 years (including 9 nights this past May) and moved up in tier points and havent got an email in 2 weeks and looking back it was a status update.
I have been trying to get rooms for late September and some dates in October and the best I can do is 2 comped nights:Þ. I dont look at offers but use the calendar and anymore that is worthless and I am not staying at Quad even at $23.
I must be doing something wrong.

If you would want to sign up for their "Total Rewards" credit card, you can get automatic platinum status to waive the fee, and 2 "Buffet of Buffets" passes.

Decent? C'mon this is CET we are talking about here! :nono: But the Sin City Bar does have VP and will comp you their beers. As with virtually every CET bar I have noticed last trip, the best games should be as follows: 7/5 Triple Bonus Plus (97.67% max), 6/5 Bonus (96.87% max), 8/5 DDB (96.79% max). The others, if I recall correctly, I wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole. Deuces may be the worst of the bunch at 94.82%...

On the gaming floor, you'll should be able to find 7/5 Bonus (98.01% max) for quarters. Not sure if Super Times Pay (STP) is available with that or not at Flamingo. I'll try to double check late next week. :evillaugh 7/5 Bonus w/STP is the best quarter game the entire evil CET empire offers to my knowledge that isn't a progressive.
Quick Birthday Trip! LOVE via myVegas!?!?!
