He tearfully denies the allegations. Wonder what his reason for having over 3,000 videos of child pornography on his hard drive is.

Just shows how we really don't know anybody nowadays.

Question: (and I know this might rile some of you but I'm really clueless about these matters) If someone is found to have child pornography in his hard drive, does that make that person a pedophile?

I'm asking because how different is this from someone who has porn on his hard drive. Would that make him a sexual assault predator? Is it possible that that person is just Fantasy driven but would still deem harmless?

I'm just curious so don't throw stones.

It would definitely make him a sex offender. Watching porn involving consenting adults is not illegal. Possessing porn involving young children being raped is different. I believe it is a crime in all 50 states. Having over 3,000 videos makes him a busy pervert -- if he did it.

    No expert...

I would think having regular porn which is legal is way way different from the sick shit what happened to this dude...I mean your hard drive has a lot on it and even searching for harmless info can put ya to sites with graphic matter..but child porn no effing way..sick should be shot

A pedophile has a sexual attraction to children - so yes, having all of that child pornography on his hard drive is confirmation that is what he is. Regular porn - as long as it is between two consenting adults - is not illegal.

I will never understand how these disgusting sick freaks could think it is acceptable to do something like that with a child. Get psychiatric help and find another consenting adult to do whatever you want with. The Nevada legal system does not play, and I hope he has the book thrown at him. I think he would only be considered a sexual predator if he actually acted on these impulses and physically did something with a child. I just pray that he has never acted on his impulses and damaged some poor child (or children) out there.

Possession of child pornography is illegal. Possession of regular pornography is not.

I did some IT work for a police department a few years ago and saw the room they had set up for internet stings. Like Eddie says, it would suck. Pretending to be underage girls/boys talking with these guys, setting up meetings, discussing underage porn. The internet has been great for so many things but making it easier to obtain child porn and for sexual predators to find victims is the downside.

Whenever I read about the porn on the computer, I always think, "Wouldn't this be an easy was to ruin someone's life?" How hard would it be to install a flash drive and download this shit to a computer? Then, give the FBI a nice anonymous tip, and away we go! Even if the person is found to be innocent, they are finished. You're always going to be the guy with kiddie porn on your computer, not the guy who was cleared of having kiddie porn on your computer.

Years ago I was running a business and our head mechanic had a friend who did some piece work for him and hung around a bit regularly. By chance we found out he was a level three sex offender. Of course we told him he was no longer allowed on the property and of course he denied everything was false. In a conversation our mechanic told me the allegations were mearly the result of false accusations I explained that level three status doesn't come with accusations etc.

These days with all the high tech gear available, an arrest like this is probably the tip of the iceberg.

    Good Luck!

If true, hopefully he will rot in jail for a long time with Jared.
