I will be in Vegas for my 30th birthday. I will be going to see a show that night but before i go i was wanting to go out to dinner at an Italian restaurant. The show is at Planet Hollywood. Any suggestions around that area would be much appreciated! Thanks!

When you say "Italian", what do you mean?

Do you mean a traditional Sicilian red-sauce place, or more of a Northern Italian place, or "Contemporary Italian" or "Italian Fusion" or what?

Off hand I would recommend Trevi in Caesars, but depending on what exactly you're looking for others might be more to your liking.

    And (LOL!) there's always Battista's. :) :)

Rao's at Caesars is good and is traditional italian. I have not tried Trevi so can't compare the two but FYI Trevi is actually inside the forum shop area - Rao's is inside the casino/hotel.

Canaletto in the Venetian is awesome! Went there and had the best appetizer I have ever eaten. If your a true Sicilian like me and like seafood, you'll enjoy!

For a variety of prices, I recommend Rao's or Maggiano's. Both are good for what they are.

We had our wedding reception dinner here. It was fabulous. My family lived in Italy for several years (Naples) and both my parents said it was wonderful Also very romantic overlooking the square and the canals in the Venitian. We had one of the private rooms on the second floor with windows that opened out over everything, but I remember they also had a "patio" section that lloked great too.

I like Circo at Bellagio. It has great pasta. Ask for a fountain view if you make reservations. It is close enough to PH to walk if you like.

I don't like Rao. I do like most any Italian at Venetian, but that is farther down the strip. Another close option is Fiamma at MGM.

I'd recommend Lavo at The Palazzo. The appetizers were so good I loaded up on them and couldn't finish my main dish!

Last trip we had a great meal at Ferraro's across from the Hard Rock. Fresh pasta daily and everyone said they had great meals. (8 of us)
