Is your favorite place to gamble different from your favorite place to stay?

How does that work out for you?

If you are receiving comps, do you find yourself playing in your favorite place to stay even though it's not your favorite place to play?

You have all the great questions. :)

I bounce around alot, so no hotel I stay at is going to necessarily be my favorite place to gamble. I prefer a centralized (to downtown/Henderson) hotel that I can pick a direction when leaving in the morning and not be too far.

Having said that, I spend alot of time playing the full-pay VP at Fiesta Henderson and consider it my current fav, but I've never stayed there. It's not central to anything. But I also play at Fiesta Rancho and several Station properties.

We like to stay at Monte Carlo, but lately we enjoy playing at Aria more.

Last trip when we spent a couple of nights at Harrah's I did a lot of playing at Mirage - Harrah's really needs to get a whole bunch of new slots... they have hundreds that haven't changed since our first trip to Las Vegas

Yeah, I like staying at Paris or the Flamingo because of their location, but I like playing at the M...but it's just kinda there by itself.

I tend to stay at better properties but my level of play is moderate. Most of my time will be off property from where I'm staying. I like and enjoy comps but I don't like feeling obligated to a host or a property. I'm a great candidate for staying at a non-casino hotel but close to the action.

My wife wants to stay on the Strip. So we stay at CET hotels. Since I play VP, I take the shuttle to the Gold Coast and play there and at the Palms. Haven't gambled at CET in years.

I play in many casinos but I stay where I enjoy gambling the most. I want to relax and gamble, I don't want to take a rental car, cab or shuttle just to go to the casino I want to gamble in. I find that to be annoying. If I am not doing well, I leave and gamble else where. I don't gamble for comps. If you stay where you enjoy gambling, it is very easy to put in enough time to get comped. Don't ever keep playing just for the comps, you will find it much cheaper to pay for the rooms and food rather than keep throwing money into cold machines.

This was exactly our situation in the past. MGM was our home casino and we loved to stay there but our luck has always been terrible on the machines and the table limits are usually a little high for me. For several trips we stayed there, playe a little bit of slots there but did most of our plan in other casinos (mostly MGM properties but we'd venture through others).

For a ton of reasons though we've moved away from MGM and are in search of a new home casino. I'd like it to be with CET but I haven't found my niche yet. I'm at the point in my Vegas life where I'd like to find a place I like to stay AND give most of my play to but that might be hard since (especially when considering the wife) we have a Champagne taste on a beer budget.

Really surprised at the answers. We won't stay where we don't like to gamble. Hence the reason for NOT staying at more than half of the hotels. At night we like to just hit the elevators when we are done for the day, without having to walk back when we are tired. Since we are reel slot players, NONE of the newer hotels fit our play...so we don't even consider them. No quarter reels...we don't stay. We pass up comp rooms to stay where we want. South Point is our all around favorite. Hubby likes to walk the strip in the morning...so for our long trips we do half the week on the strip and half the week at SP. Past few years have been Harrahs, Flamingo, MGM because they have quarter reels. Dec trip is going to be Monte Carlo. We paid at all these properties. Comp offers were for bottom rooms and we like space, sofa, fridge...so we just pay for our rooms now and comp whatever at the end. In our 50s now and not willing to stay in a room we are not comfortable in anymore.

Our favorite place is NYNY to gamble and eat.
Unfortunately they only comp the base rooms.
Recently stated in PH in an upgraded room.
The PH Host said to contact him for our next stage and he will get the next size room which actually has 2 separate bedrooms.
If NYNY would do the same that would easily be our #1 place.
