I haven't seen any reports and wondered if the restaruarnt was still open to the public? If so, is the food pretty much as it was? I had some good meals there and found the hotel very convenient, inexpensive and QUIET!!

Is it still run by the same people that used to run it when the Spike was a casino? It used to be a great place to get decent food at a good price. Not everything was great, but some of the food was pretty damn good.

Funny story. About 4 years ago, I went into the Golden Grill for a bite to eat after playing a drinking for several hours. I sat at the counter and ordered a Chicken Wrap. The waitress said she wouldn't serve me one, because in her opinion, they were 'terrible', and she told me to order something else.

I was kind of shocked at this, because I wanted the wrap, but I said since I can't have what I want, just make me anything, I don't care what it is. She came back with a BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger that was ridiculously good, and much better than the wrap would've been. I gave her double the tip for her good judgement.

We were just there 4/21/14. The ham steak and eggs were the best I've ever had. Love the pumpernickle rye bread. You don't get that just anywhere. Wife said it was the best tomato, mushroom, spinach omlet she ever had. The place will satisfy.
