This is probably a silly question. Apologies if it has already been asked...

Are there any pros / cons to taking / not taking taking comp offers from casinos? Is redemption ever a factor, or is it all based on points, theoretical loss, etc?

My thought is they give out LOTS of offers and assume you will only take some. But, if enough time goes by without redemption or visit, they make a reasonable assumption that you are smarter than normal.... and will not be coming back.

I get a few hundred offers a year and redeem maybe 5%.
