Just got back. Semi-unexpected trip. (I did shoot photos at the Riv, I'll post shortly.)

One thing I REALLY noticed this trip was things out of order! At the Four Corners last Friday, it seemed like a grand total of ONE out of eight escalators was actually working! Same thing at the Venetian. It seemed like ALL of the moving belts were out of order! LOL, I didn't try the one that leads into Caesars, which historically has been OOO.

Another thing, in the ladies rooms, those soap dispensers seemed to be seldom working. If they did work, they would would squirt out a half-portion of soap just AFTER you gave up and moved your hand out of the way. The auto faucets were too hot, too cold, or not working at all. Don't get me started on the towel dispensers which, if you're lucky, give you 1/2 of a towel about 1/2 of the time!

Is this my imagination or is maintenance sorely lacking in Las Vegas over the past couple of months?

Last time I went was in June and September 2013...

Both of those trips I do not remember a SINGLE day that the people mover belts outside of Venetian were working. You would think that would be a priority to have those up and running to get people into the casino faster!

I'm not defending the outside equipment failures, but it has to hell trying to keep the escalators and people movers working with all the sand blowing around outside and getting into all the gear drives etc.

Whose responsibility is it to maintain the escalators going over the streets? If it's the city paying the bills, that may explain it, but not excuse it.. Not that it was any better with the people mover into Ballys or into the Venetian. Time to design a new mouse trap.

That's a very good question! IIAC it can't be the city, since the city line is at Sahara. I assume it would be the county, or whatever entity owns and allegedly maintains the overpasses. Perhaps a consortium of casinos? Since CET owns 3 of the 4 corners at Flamingo, I'm sure they have some involvement, but I don't think that complaining at the desk at Caesars would be particularly effective in getting them fixed. :(

Now at the Venetian, that would definitely be Shelley and his cronies that have the responsibility. Maybe they're pushing such things as maintenance/repairs out to Q2 to bump the numbers?
