    Hey All,

Just one of those early morning, drinking coffee, waiting for the wife to wake up and start the day question(s).

Let me explain: Is Downtown getting to much exposure or noticed...to much?

When both my wife and I started going to Vegas in '97, we were only Strip people. We were younger and had in our minds that downtown was kinda the skidrow of Vegas. Don't know why, but we did.

About two years ago we were starting to get really fed up with the crowds, waiting on an elevator, not what we considered good blackjack....etc.

So, when we got back home from our trip I immediately started looking up single to doubledeck bj for our next Vegas trip. This led us to the El Cortez.....the El Cortez???????

Our next trip we stayed on the Strip(again) but played downtown and loved it!! We even loved the "old school" vibe El Cortez has and all that comes with it. So, last year we stayed at the El Co.,played there, played in a few downtown casinos and really enjoyed the slower pace.

Now for my question(s): Is this little secret now lost? Has anyone noticed more and more people going downtown? Is the word out with the internet and message boards? In other words, will downtown now become the focus of "new" attention and turn into the place(Strip) of more tourists?

Will the internet, message boards, discontented Strip folks, new investment into downtown, (yes, even the tv show PawnStars) and word of mouth, spring new life and enjoyment for downtown?

Basically....with all the items mentioned, is downtown changing for the better or worse?

    Just my 2cents....

***Yes, I realize that I am one of those people who are coming to the downtown area and could be part of the problem/answer to the issue***

Cohiba .... Probably, the best place for you to start is by reading the entire thread here, "Downtown is changing".

Some good, some bad, some people happy, some people mad, etc., etc.
