For us....Diamond is almost a must but easy to get since we have a local riverboat. Besides free rooms for 5 nites on each of our 2 trips to LV each year, we enjoy going to the Diamond Lounges / free show tickets / $100 celebration dinner & special lines at restaurants. At our home casino, going to all the events for Diamond/7Stars/ Diamond lounge dinners and free drinks 2 days a week / free rooms anytime. We would spend about the same for entertainment throughout the year anyway.

Make sure your sister is gambling similar to you otherwise your average bet it's going to get killed.

The only Diamond benefit I've used is the VIP lounge check in and the buffet diamond check in at the Paris buffet. I thought the buffet was cool as they have you order your omelette from your table and they bring it to you rather than having to stand in line for it.

Before I was diamond, I had a friend that would get a bunch of us into carnival court but that was years ago. Not sure if it's still like that.

I haven't used the celebration dinner yet... How long do you have to use that? I qualified at the end of July.

Someone also mentioned you can reserve a slot machine for up to 2 hours but I haven't seen that mentioned anywhere else or confirmed it.

You have until March 31, 2015 to use your celebration dinner.
My understanding is every bit of slot play should help. It's not quite the same thing if you normally play at a table with a $500 avg bet and then you play for a few hours at $10 avg bet. Once you have created a "day", all the slot play should help.

I wondered also if you could reserve a machine in LV. At HSI....a Diamond or 7Stars can lock one down for 2 hours to go eat or whatever. When you come back to the machine all you need to do is insert your players card to unlock. The only card that will unlock is the same one used just before they locked it down. It is a nice perk if you are on a machine - doing well.....you can go take a little break. If anyone knows for sure....please post. :)

I have locked down machines many times Vegas. The average is 2 hours, if you ask for longer they call up and check your play to see how long they can offer you. I've had machines locked out overnight when playing late into the morning and coming back the next day. I'm close to 7 star so maybe that helped to have it locked overnight, not sure, was just glad they did.

But if you are doing so well, why would you take a break? I think for Diamond and 7 Stars players, if you need to use the potty, the suits will bring the potty to you while still playing the machine (behind curtains of course). Same with dining............room service at your machine while still playing Wheel of Fortune.

Diamond and 7 Stars players need to feel wanted by the Hotel, otherwise goodbye. If i'm a suit, i would want that person to stay at that machine as long as possible WITHOUT taking a break, that's why Vegas exists.
The "Cooler" was brought in to break the winning streak of players at the tables, whereas the "machine" players, where you want them to stay (because most of the time the casinos get there money back plus), can be hooked up.
I played for 4 1/2 hours on the same machine last week at the Linq (Sphinx 3 D), luckily i had already eaten and had no bowel movements, so i eventually cashed out my 30 cents, but high rollers should be given the option to stay at their machine no matter what, because if you leave the machine, even for 2 minutes, it will grow cold.
I say Giada, anyone named Guy, Bobby, Gordon, etc should come to you. :wink2:

Thank you all for your replies and advice! I'll try to get the 1000 TC bonus tomorrow. I think I'll need a little luck to reach my goal though.......I swear sometime the machines are so tight that my bankroll is gone before I can even reach 1000 TC.

    Wish me luck :)

I just had made Diamond on my last trip to Vegas (first time). I called there a couple weeks ago to see if a card could be mailed out so I could have it on arrival, although they stated they wouldn't do that anymore, I was really impressed by the level of courtesy I was given on the call. At the end when she asked if there was anything she could help with out otherwise, which for me I usually take as a standard call end - she stopped again after I said no, thanks - and she said "no, really....is there anything we can do or answer? Any reservations we can make on your behalf? Any questions we can answer?". I was really impressed with the sincerity of their service. Today, I just got a call from someone, not the host who booked my reservation for this week, just to let me know my reservation was in place, what time would I expect to get there to ensure the room was ready, and to let me know they had put in for a nice upgrade. I've never had that call from previous reservations! As much as the perks are nice, I anticipate they really do make a lot of effort it seems to provide exceptional customer service once you cross the threshold over Diamond.

When I go to Vegas I expect to lose my BR, so whoever wants to give me the best experience while I do that - is who will earn my BR. I'm pleasantly surprised by the last 2 calls, and look forward to seeing how the upcoming trip goes!

    Good luck on hitting Diamond!!!

This year was also my first year hitting diamond. I didn't know if that call was normal or not but I got it before my last trip as well. They confirmed arrival time, room type, bed preference, if I needed reservations, car from the airport etc.

I'm guessing I would have had to pay for the airport ride but anyone know if that's a perk? I don't really mind paying the $15-$20 for a taxi from the airport to PH though.

I also noticed when I got back from the trip, I got a survey for pretty much every property I was at.. 6 surveys total I think and a follow-up call, as well as a follow-up survey on the steakhouse restaurant. I made a comment on the PH survey about there being some beggers in the casino (sob stories about 'a few dollars short for the buffet', 'I need a fan belt for my car' etc.). Well, I was surprised when the head of security called me up and apologized about 10 times! Seemed like a really nice guy and I think they're really focused either on the surveys or what the diamonds are saying in them. I got his name and he said to look him up next time I'm on property if there's anything he can do for me. I really didn't expect a response and what I mentioned wasn't that big of an issue to me (it's gotten much much better over the years from where it used to be).

I received the same call, which is a nice touch, but they didn't have my arrival time, transportation booked or folio credit attached to my reservation. I thought all of that was looked after, so good thing they called because I never call to confirm everything is set up as expected!

I reached out to Hunter to see if he can clear this up!

Limo transportation to and from the airport is comped once you hit Diamond level 2 (80,000 tier). Below that level, the limo charge will be added to your folio (approx $65 each way). That can be cleared on the back end.

I haven't been Diamond for the last two years, but when I was I loved
Diamond Lounges ( where any and every drink on the House ), Special Check-Ins with Bottled Water and many times Yummy Treats, Free later Check-Outs, Better Rooms, Free Show Tickets, Special Line in Restaurants, Special Line for Shuttle, Free Printout of Boarding Passes, Better Future Offers ( although others dispute this ), Special Line at the TR Desk.

One year at Midnight,I was passing the Restaurant in Flamingo, were serving inexpensive Burgers and Fries and there were about 80 people in line. No one was in Diamond , I was hungry got in Diamond Line and received immediate seating. I felt guilty, but still took the booth .

Already down $600 in less than 2 hours and not even close to 1000 tc :( on the bright side I got a nice upgrade at cp. I had a comp forum tower and got Augustus on 39th at check in :)

I guess it's time to think about this logical operation:

Points (dollars) needed for Diamond < (Gambling loss limit - your value of Diamond card amenities for next 16 months - your value of fun while gambling - bonus tier credits)

I guess just have fun, and don't chase something that might seem out of reach. Who knows, you might get the 1,000 bonus points the next day. You still get 125 bonus tier credits if you reach 500 actual tier credits.

I'm very illogical when it comes to slots :) it seems I will reach 1000 tc. I had a really good run on sphinx and got a lot of points. I love that machine!!!! I'm not really playing to chase diamond, I'm just playing to have fun but since I'm so close and since it'll never happen again, I figured it was worth a shot :)

Is Sphinx the 3D machine? I was playing something at Planet Hollywood that I think was that and had a blast on it. Was very hit or miss for bonuses though.

Yes it is! Yes you either win big or lose big with that machine playing max bet. I only had one bonus but won $400 with just regular spins and played for a long time.
