    Hi all,

In Vegas Sat-Wed upcoming. Booked my car through Alamo (due to GREAT prior experience) and amount came to 125 all in. Checked today and its down to $95. Awesome. Cancelled and rebooked - saved $30.

Now - payless has it even CHEAPER - $76 for exact same car class, etc. - but I did not enjoy lineup and upselling on their insurance they did with me the 1 time I used them in Vegas.

Is the 15% in savings worth the hassle? What have been your experiences with these folks?

I think the real question would be, is it worth $19 to put up with the hassle at the beginning of your trip like you did before?

If I had a bad experience with them before, I don't think they would get my business again, even to save $20. $50-100 Maybe :evillaugh

I would definitely stick with Alamo. We use them all the time, and the self-service check-in kiosks are a breeze.

Besides, for Payless, don't you have to take the main shuttle bus to the Rental Facility, and then take ANOTHER Payless shuttle to their separate location ... and then still stand in line, and get the 3rd degree ? Not worth the $19 savings, at all ....

No, Payless is located at the consolidated rental facility. So only the main shuttle would be required. Perhaps you are thinking of FOX?

To the OP, I have only had positive experiences with Alamo and would certainly pay $19 more to ensure a consistent level of service.
And just for giggles, it wouldn't hurt to call Alamo and see if they can come closer to the Payless price. The worst they can do is say "no." Or perhaps ask at the counter?

In a word NO. Alamo rentals have been painless for me over the years.

Another vote for Alamo... They are the best in the biz.... Also, with creative coupon codes/ Costco discounts, you can usually make them price competitive with the discount outfits like Payless.

Don't do it. Stick with Alamo, I've never had a problem with them. Payless with the long wait and the hard sell is like starting your vacation by going to a time-share presentation.

The (M)asses have spoken! I will stay with Alamo. Still got it quite a bit cheaper than what I originally planned - so I am happy. Between that and my work paying for an upgrade at the Flamingo to GO Luxury, this is going to be an interesting trip!
