When checking into a hotel, who is considered an "invited guest"? I'm coming in on a comp offer through the MLIFE website, am I considered "Invited"? More importantly though am I allowed to use the Invited Guest check in?

When I had comped room offers, I used this desk at Mirage and Luxor. And both agents seemed fine with it. I think giving away a free room to you definitely makes you an "invited guest".

But, when I had a discounted offer, I didn't use this desk.

Yes use it. If your being comped rooms you are invited and can use the VIP line or room. Some small signs posted even say higher level players card holders and invited guests. That advantage of your privileges. Have fun!

Depending on the property, you should be able to use the VIP lounge for check-in...

This sounds intriguing. I'll be staying at Aria and Encore, would you happen to know where the VIP lounges are located in these two properties?

The invited guest line and the vip lounge are two different things. In order to check in in the vip lounge that is in the private room you need to be coded by your host to use it. The invited guest line in the main lobby area is fine to use.

I have 3 nights comped at The D. Do they have a special line I can use?

Just about every place we've stayed has had an "Invited Guests" or somesuch line. For V/P we also joined IHP, which gets us a special desk even if we aren't "invited."

Not even sure the D has a special line. Last time I checked in, it took about 5 minutes at the regular line.

Aria has several options. Invited guest line along with Sky Suites and Tower Suites lounge check in.

At CET properties, it's more of a regular line, Diamond/7 Stars check in (sometimes line, sometimes lounge), Platinum and sometimes Gold line.

...and at many places if there aren't any "invited guests" waiting, anyone can use that line. I ended up at invited guests at Cosmopolitan over the weekend since there was no one there.

    Bad advice.

If you are on a comp, you MIGHT ble able to use the VIP checkin. It has to be coded by the host. I have been on somewhat strong offers and still not able to use VIP checkin.

If you're comped, your itinerary will probably say if you have VIP check in. See below an example for Aria. I'm also comped at Bellagio in a baby suite, but that one does NOT mention VIP check in, so I'll just hit the regular check in. You can also call and give them your reservation number to see if VIP check-in applies.

    •$XXX in FREEPLAY®
•Three Complimentary Nights in an Innovative Suite and Tower Suites Lounge Check-in
    •$XXX M life Resort Credit

P.S. Golfnut was spot on in regards to VIP and "invited" being different. VIP/Tower Suites check-in mean you get to check in in the "fun/special" room, with snacks and perks during your stay anytime you go in. Sky Suites check-in is above the Tower Suites lounge even, ANOTHER tier, another room. "Invited guest check in" can sometimes just be a separate, albeit shorter, line at the main front desk.

Is it supposed to be all comped or part of the stay comped also OK?

I am staying at Delano on a comp offer (Mlife Gold). Since they do not have a dedicated "invited guest line" wondering if I can go into the VIP check in lounge?
