    Trips to Las Vegas:
Hello: I've been reading the board for a few weeks and decided to register.

My wife and I will be driving in from Southern California this Sunday for a couple night stay. I haven't been to Vegas since 2008, and even then I was holed up at Green Valley Ranch the entire time. In my younger days, I used to go to Vegas several times a year, so I've seen the majority of the other places and stayed in a good variety of hotels as well. However, I haven't been on the Strip since 2005. This means I've never seen Encore, Palazzo, Cosmopolitan or anything at CityCenter. I typically appreciate taking a stroll around the new hotels, but we're staying off strip, so I'm trying to see if there's much worthwhile sightseeing to be done in these "new" properties so we don't waste too much time driving around and/or hopping from hotel to hotel when we could be poolside or gambling in our own hotel's casino (South Point).

The types of things I enjoy are like the floral mosaic tile patterns in the floor at Wynn, and that colorful art installation above the Bellagio check-in desk. If the new places are just "more of the same," then we'll probably pass. But if there's some cool decor or attractions that might fly under the radar, we might give it a shot. We're also trying to maintain a pretty low-budget trip, so please keep that in mind with any suggestions.

A few other things we plan on doing:

As long as the Cosmopolitan "$100 on Us" promotion is still running (they haven't updated the Identity Promotions page on their site and it still says it expires Aug. 31), we'll likely do that. Which begs the question – does Cosmo have free self parking? I haven't been able to find a definitive answer online.

We're also planning on spending an hour or two on Fremont Street one night. Anything worthwhile we should see/do there? Any parking tips for Fremont street?

    Thank you!

    Trips to Las Vegas:
I've heard Cosmo is awful for parking. It may depend on the night, but I can't imagine they have a lot of parking available. I've never parked at any of these, but maybe Monte Carlo would be a better choice. You could walk inside from there to Aria, walk around City Center, and then into Cosmo.

To me there isn't all that much to see in Encore/Palazzo. I still enjoy walking around them though, but I just can't think of a must see in Encore. That said, I would still suggest just parking at Palazzo and maybe walking around Venetian/Palazzo/Wynn/Encore. They are all right in a row, so if you are up for walking there would be no need to move your car. To me just walking through these is worth an hour or 2. Nothing amazing like the garden at Bellagio to me, but it is always a nice diversion.
